1  Holy _(insert noun here)_ Batman! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by CactusFlower on: May 07, 2006 11:04:04 AM
So... I'm obsessed. I decided to turn my obsession into something wearable.

I started off with some batman bedsheets I got at the goodwill, and tried to duplicate what SallySparks did here:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=2409.0

But it looked more like a toga party dress than a cocktail party dress. So I caved in a bought some walmart batman fabric.

Here's how it turned out after several late night sewing sessions: Please tell me that you think. Thanks.

I did this one for my boyfriend for Valentine's day '04- I'm fairly proud because I think the drawing of me actually looks like me and the drawing of him actually looks like him. But it was really late when I did the writing on the bottom and I mispelled "Valentine's"- I didn't notice until over a year later when my mom pointed it out.

I did this one during History Class as we watched the 2nd Presidential Debate- in between writing notes of course! It's a caracature- their heads are supposed to be hot air balloons.

Here's a sketch of Reese Witherspoon:

8  Re: FIRST POST- two t-shirts recon in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by CactusFlower on: April 12, 2005 02:29:19 PM
Is it bunched like the front? Like, does the ribbon go through it?

Yes, it is bunched like the front and yes, it goes through it, kind of like a drawstring. Here's a tute that might help better explain.

1st
Size the shirt to fit
2nd
Cut out like this on both the front and back
3rd
Fold over and turn inside out
4th
Sew down folded part, leaving space (like a draw string)
5th
Slide random ribbon through both front and back and tie.
