1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / decoupage box gift on: June 16, 2005 10:09:44 AM
my family had a foreign exchange student from thailand for about a year, and i made her this as a going-away present. normally i wouldn't, but i included a bunch of pictures of flowers/butterflies/stuff like that on the box because she loves that kind of thing. also, i used bright colors in combination to make sort of a magical theme. (i tried, anyway!)  this is my first time starting a topic!!  Cheesy hopefully the pics will work

hey.. i made another box, this one wooden as opposed to cardboard-ish. and i got a message asking how to decoupage. really easy! cut out magazine pictures that you like and arrange them on your item to be decorated. when you've got the design pretty much how you want it, brush some mod podge on the back of the pictures to glue them down. when they dry, coat the top with another layer. mod podge is made specifically for decoupaging and can be found at any freaking craft store, or craft section or walmart in my case. you can experiment with different surfaces to decoupage and the kinds and layering of the paper.
