11  Re: I <3 Coffee/Tea Swap Round 2 Gallery!!! in The Swap Gallery by sissychrissy1 on: March 28, 2006 07:50:26 PM
SonjaBoo received my package today, so I'm posting photographs of what I sent.

Here's the whole loot, save the bag of Dunkin' Donuts French Vanilla coffee that I also included...

I made this little tea box covered in vintage fabrics for holding favorite teas...

Along with a knitted mug cozy...

And a homemade coffee facial/body scrub...

Besides the coffee that isn't shown, the edibles included an assortment of herbal teas, various flavored honey sticks for the teas, cappucino-flavored cookies, and a chocoalate bar with espresso.

12  Re: ABC CD Swap Two in The Swap Gallery by sissychrissy1 on: March 28, 2006 01:25:34 PM
I received my CD package from magick8ball today.  Besides two CDs, she made an awesome carrying case for the discs.  In addition to being a gorgeous extra treat, it's made from my favorite yarn (which she couldn't have known) and is super soft, plus she included some extra ribbon in case I want to use it as a purse later.  Awesome!

She included some extra songs to fill up the space on the discs, so here's the complete track listings:

Disc One: "Jingling a Wish Coin"
Blondie - Atomic
Dynamite Hack - Boys in Tha Hood
Cream - I Feel Free
Le Tigre - Deceptacon
Eels - Novocaine for the Soul
Fiona Apple - Better Version of Me
Beck - Go It Alone (Wish Coin Remix)
Hot Chip - Shiny Escalade
Shuggie Otis - Inspiration Information
Soukicki Kina - Jing Jing
Massive Attack - Karmacoma
Lovage - Pit Stop (Take Me Home)
M.I.A. - Sunshowers
No Doubt - Bathwater
Horace Andy - One Love
Postal Service - We Will Become Silhouettes
David Bowie - Queen Bitch
Razorlight - In the City
Simon and Garfunkel - 59th St. Bridge Song

Disc Two: "Midnight Garage Sale"
Jimi Hendrix - If 6 Was 9
Ben Folds Live - Kate
Beck - Lost Cause
Belle & Sebastian - My Wandering Days Are Over
Liz Phair - Never Said Nothing
of Montreal - Oslo in the Summertime
Talking Heads - Psycho Killer
B-52's - Quiche Lorraine
Radiohead - Backdrifts
Outkast - Spottieottiedopalicious
Tilly & the Wall - Night of the Living Dead
Unicorns - Jellybones
Lou Reed - Vicious
White Stripes - Doorbell
XTC - Senses Working Overtime
Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots
Zap Mama - Rafiki

with Bonus Song - Kermit the Frog/Ladysmith Black Monbazo - Alphabet Song!

Just like she wrote in her note, a few of my favorites are already on here, so I can't wait to listen to the rest.  Thanks for such a cool package, magick8ball!

13  Re: The Amazing Hoodie Swap Gallery!!! in The Swap Gallery by sissychrissy1 on: March 13, 2006 03:02:56 PM
Yea, magzilla received her hoodie, so I can post photographs now!  Maggie said that she likes the art of Jason Sho Green (http://www.youyesyou.net), so I browsed the site for some inspiration before coming up with this idea.

What's that odd shape...?

Ooooh, it's a face and there's some sort of bubble coming out of its mouth!
(Yes, this is a weird photograph with the hoodie all smooshed sideways, but it was the only way I could really show what the entire design is since it wraps around the side of the hoodie.)

And here's a photograph of the back...

Plus a close up of the fabrics used for the bubbles...

All of these fabrics but the yellow striped one are vintage scraps from the sixties and seventies that a friend gave me when she found them in a relative's attic, so I love finding fun uses for them.

I wish I could have taken photographs with this hoodie on to show how the design wraps, but I just wanted to mail it.  The important thing is that it's done and that my partner likes it.  Glad this was a successful swap for both of us, Maggie!

Here's the awesome hoodie I received from magzilla!  I wore it out the day after I got it, and I've changed into it when I've gotten home pretty much every day the past week.  Parting with it long enough to wash will be difficult!  I told her that I like "cute food" and this is what she came up with.  I love it because it relates to my interest, but it's a different style than I typically make for myself, so it's fun and different.

The front says "Veggie Core."

The back has an ear of corn, and the hood has an apple.

Around the corn it says, "mmmmmm", and around the apple it reads, "don't forget the fruits"

I mailed your today, maggie, so let me know when you get it and I'll post the photographs I took.  Thanks again!

17  knitting clutch in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by sissychrissy1 on: January 23, 2006 05:26:44 PM
This is a bag I made for one of my friends for her birthday.  She is a new knitter and I wanted to encourage her habit!  The bag is made of felt on the outside and lined in vintage fabric.  The outter pocket is meant for small odds and ends like yarn needles, stitch markers, and such, while the big pocket can be used to store scissors, patterns, and other larger things.  Like a total dolt, I forgot to take photographs of the back, but the neat thing is that it has another piece of felt sewn on it covering all but about two inches on one end, and that piece is sewn/ribbed into four sections, each of which will hold a set of knitting needles.  It's an all-in-one storage case!

18  embellished t-shirt - blue with bird in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by sissychrissy1 on: January 23, 2006 05:20:39 PM
This is a t-shirt that I embellished for one of my friends for Christmas.  The only thing I had to buy was the t-shirt itself and everything else was in my sewing box.

20  cupcake clutch in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by sissychrissy1 on: April 03, 2005 11:33:53 PM
Here's another clutch that I made, this time without a handle.  I thought that I was going to sell it, but then I put all my makeup in it to check for size/capacity, and I may not be able to let it go!  I love cupcakes!

You can't tell in the photograph, but the blue cupcake paper is sparkled with glitter in the felt, and the sprinkles are irridescent sequins.
