Has anyone ever altered one of those weird bra thingies in a one-piece bathing suit? It's a piece of mesh inserted into the front piece of the bathing suit, with a band sewn to the mesh that sits under the bust, and then two foam cups sewn to the mesh on top of the band. My problem is that the stupid band is too loose and sits about 3 inches too low, as do the cups. I can't figure out how to pull the band and cups up without completing deconstructing the swimsuit, and my serger is not fancy enough to handle swimsuit fabric. I don't want to sew anything directly to the swimsuit fabric (rather than the mesh) as it will look messy.

Has anyone attempted this before? Should I just rip the whole thing out and wear a bikini bra under my swimsuit?
