1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Barn Owl Pyrography on: April 25, 2012 04:57:45 PM
Stunning! I just bought a versa tip and used it for the first time tonight. I used the tip that was already on it and the results were pretty cool. I've never done any kind of woodworking before and I was pretty impressed by it. I didn't have any problems until I tried to take the tip off. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to take it off! I tried one of those non slip grip lid openers to no avail. Over top of that so I wouldn't damage it, I used needle nose pliers. Still nothing. How did you change out your tips?  Huh

Actually, I do use needle nose pliers...I just grip the tip directly and drop it into a glass jar so it cools off.  Then I use the pliers to screw a new one in.

They are really awesome.!  I love the first one, especially. The colors and the lines are very nice, and the content really moves the eyes around.

5  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: What can I use coffee creamer cups from fast food places? on: August 12, 2011 02:08:52 AM
I was thinking you could make a pretty neat lamp base out of them.  Stack them end to end (put the two bottoms together, then the tops together, repeat, repeat) which would make a neat looking tower.  Then take a wooden circle to use as the bottom, glue several towers of creamer cups to the wooden base, and then spray paint them...I'm thinking red would look awesome.  Maybe I need to sketch this...lol

I got them at a garage sale.  Honestly, if you really want the mate, I don't care if I have a set or not...really, I have oodles of owls.  PM me and maybe we can arrange something.
