1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Tunisian Crochet - Problem with Squares on: June 15, 2012 05:57:16 AM
Hello everyone!

I have a question regarding Tunisian Crochet. I've wanted to play around with it and I made this pattern:

Ok its not actually a pattern, but from what I read about this stitch, it should be more square than simple sc.
So the pattern is 18 stitches wide and 18 rows high. but it doesnt come out nearly square. (Its about 10 cm wide and 14 cm tall)
So the question is: did I do it wrong or is this the way it is?
Do you think I crocheted too tightly?

Thanks for your help!
2  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions / Polar Bear pattern on: October 01, 2011 04:55:21 AM
Hallo everyone!
I hope you can help me.
My sister has requested a Polar Bear as her birthday gift (10.10.) but for the life of me I cant find a decent bear pattern on the web. Id like to make a small baby bear, which by itself is no problem, except the bear should look more like a real bear then like a Teddy bear. It should also be a free pattern, as I dont own a credit card, which makes paying for stuff online near to completely impossible.
I would be ever so grateful if you could help me out!
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / How to create a boarder around an object? on: June 24, 2011 06:54:44 AM
I got this little batch made of soft plastic and I want to make a heart shaped boarder around it. The original batch is not exactly heart shaped, so i cant just work around it i guess. The whole thing is maybe 5cm in diameter.
I dont have a camera but I found the same batch on a blog, check here: http://img.blogs.yahoo.co.jp/ybi/1/0c/19/momoca_9/folder/1507280/img_1507280_56612573_0?1221804527.jpg

I figured I could make small stitches around the the boarder and crochet through them. But how to make it heart shaped?

Thanks for your help!

4  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / How important is the way you hold your hook? on: June 16, 2011 07:35:14 PM
In most tutorial videos (not all of them), the handle of the hook is above the hand (like a pencil), but I tend to hold my hook under my hand (as if I would knit). Does it make a difference?
I tried to hold my hook the other way, but my loops tend to slip off and its totally awkward. So I wonder if it makes sense to go through the trouble of learning it.
