1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Macbook sleeve on: December 18, 2011 07:59:49 AM
Thanks Smiley Hmm I used an old yoga mat, cut out two pieces and lined them (does this make sense?) Thats why it is stiff and also protects my laptop from damage.
By the way the fabric is some sort of jeans.

I wanted to do something similar for my tablet; though, I didn't know how to stiffen fabrics. I've got some floral which is cute yet very soft what can't protect anything - so thank you for your answer and ...

keep on sewing !

xoxo

How cute ! I'm wondering how it would look as a Totoro ; )) (Japanese anime character) http://th01.deviantart.net/fs71/PRE/i/2010/057/8/5/Totoro_by_Autodach.jpg

When you end making this coat, please, share with some photos of final version ; ) I'm curious about the effect.

Good Luck!

I was afraid that no one would answer; therefore, I'm so glad that you give me some patterns and I have to thank you!

Thank you very much ; )

You didn't tell what's the colour but I imagined that It could be navy blue (dark one) and I don't know what is the age of your daughter so some of my ideas might be quite childish Wink

I would add some fake fur to the hood and the animal ears on the top (cat or bear ears) then, on the arms, ribbon epaulettes . I would also sew some fake fancy bottoms on the front (maybe sweets, or just colourful one) and, in the end, on the back of the coat I would add fabric flower and stitched (I reckon that iron may melt polyester).

I hope I was helpful ; ) (sorry for that shabby sketch)
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / 'Mermaid' bra pattern, please! on: December 05, 2011 11:19:12 PM
In January is my prom and as a craftsteromaniac I decided to sew something by myself. So, I started thinking, more and more, and I imagined this:

But I don't know how to sew bra and corset part ( thanks god I know how to make a skirt...)
I'm thinking about some tough fabric for the top of dress and georgette for the bottom, what do you think?

I have just a little time for making this project so I'm begging you!

HOW TO SEW that 'mermaid' thing?
