Did you use a stencil to trace on the unicorns, or freehand?
2  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Re: Glass-etching problems on: June 30, 2011 03:41:17 PM
Last night i triedcard stock, but it leaked underneath the card stock in an area. I'm thinking of  trying the tape deal and cutting the stencil into the tape. If that doesn't work, I'll be off to the craft store for fabric paint.

I had hoped to have a few items ready for a reptile show, but it looks like I won't be able to until my next show.
3  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Stencils for Etching on: June 24, 2011 11:43:25 AM
What is the best and easiest way to make your own stencils?

I tried, and apparently, I'm no good with the exacto.

Is there a way to trace the design on the glass and go from there, keeping the cream within lines?
4  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / New here on: June 19, 2011 04:10:11 PM
I've been scoping out the site, but I'm finally posting.

Brief intro... I'm in my 20s, student, full time employee, reptile hobbyist, and part time crafter. When I have time, I make jewelry, polymer clay stuff (still very new to clay), and decorate unfinished frames. Every now and then, I'll decorate glass cups with vinyl decals. I'm starting to expand my materials in attempts to expand my customer base.

I show/sell my crafts at reptile shows, so you'll find most of my crafts will feature geckos, snakes, frogs, tortoises, arachnids, etc.

It's been a while since I've made homemade crafts. I'm building up my base of materials, where I've previously sold everything. I'm also expanding my knowledge of styles.  Please be patient with my novice questions. :-)

Do you have tips on how to etch? I'm trying to figure out a new project with some small candle holders that I purchased.
