1  UNITED STATES / Colorado / any Denver area crafters want in on an order of purse feet, magnetic closures? on: September 22, 2005 09:41:12 PM
i want to buy some purse feet and magnetic snap closures on ebay but don't need 120 or 600 of them. i'm wondering if any locals want to split an order. i think these are much cheaper on ebay than at JoAnns or Michaels. i think the mag snaps cost about $1.50 each at the store and only about 50 cents on ebay, or less if you buy a bigger quantity. i can get the details if people are interested.  i don't want to have to deal w/ shipping them, hence the call for local craftin gals (or guys.) thanks!
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Hello Kitty leopard/zebra/dalmation print monogrammed bags (for my daughter) on: September 21, 2005 08:11:05 PM
I made these bags for my 6 yr old daughter Isabella and her friend Lauren. Each a little different, but both lined in yellow cotton with an attached "lippy holder" for lipbalm or coins and with different handles.   I was pleased w/ how  they came out.  I just got a new sewing & embroidery  machine and have been making stuff and personalizing stuff like crazy!    my daughter has already filled hers (see the orange boa pen sticking out) and Lauren will get hers on her b-day.

3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / WWFD: What Would Freud Do?? shadowbox -- controversy!! woo hoo!! on: July 12, 2005 09:25:01 AM
I made this a bit ago for a company wide art show. I thought I'd show it off here because I really enjoy it (as do many of my patients - -I work in mental health)! It created quite a controvery at the art show. Let me know what you think....

all around the edges I wrote, "What would Freud do? with Prozac? with brief therapy? with Zoloft? with managed care? with Paxil? with EMDR? with HMOs? with group therapy? with Xanax? Would he be out of business?  And then on the back of the box I wrote, "you bet!!"  Tongue

It got Honorable Mention, BTW.
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / quick knitted capelet for my daughter! on: April 02, 2005 09:48:40 AM
i just finished this capelet for my daughter. have yet to weave in the ends....nothing fancy just knitting and purling using large needles and cheap yarn, then joining in the round.  Now i'm going to make some adult sized ones for gifts in fancier yarns.  woo hoo! let me know what you think. Smiley

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / pattern for knitted ipod cozy w/ openings for screen and clickwheel? on: March 27, 2005 08:52:27 PM
does anyone have a pattern for a knitted ipod cozy that has openings for the display and the clickwheel? i thought i saw a finished one here a week or so ago but can't find it anywhere. I want to make a cozy that lets you use the ipod while in the cozy.  making a felted one would be tres cool too! thanks
6  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / needle felted palm pilot cozie - my first post!! on: March 18, 2005 08:16:08 PM
i made this a while ago and love it, and just discovered this site so thought i'd do a first post. this is made from a felted thrift store JCrew sweater, lined with a thrift store green silk blouse (hard to see in the pics), and then I needle felted the design on the top. I've gotten lots of compliments at stores when people have seen it. it's really a prototype as there are certainly things I'd do differently next time.  After this project, I had plans and sweaters/yarn for a million more but haven't had the time. this site is so inspiring!
