i am absolutely in love with this dress. (:
its the only piece of clothing i have made that i would wear all the time.
i kind of made up the pattern.
i more or less traced a shirt i had and made it a little longer.

detail on the sleeves and neckline.
which i adore. (:

sorry for the akward pose.

3  pink tie back dress. in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by justxlove on: July 04, 2007 02:20:00 AM
this was really simple. the body is a tube with a few gathers in the front. the top is also a tube. theres a circle left in the back of the body with room to tie a knot to keep the dress up better.

4  Re: complete urban outfitters knockoff. in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by justxlove on: July 03, 2007 02:25:21 PM
first off, thanks for the compliments.  Grin

im not sure what kind of fabric it is. all i know is its stretchy. aha.

but heres a quick tutorial and the whole thing is just a bunch of tubes really.

1. i simply measured around the bust and then made it 12 inches the other way. i folded it in half so it held better at the top so now its 6 inches. and then i sewed it.

2. then for the body part im not sure how wide mine is but thats really up to you. but its just a tube gathered in a random places really. there was no thought put into where the gathers would be.

3. i then made a tube at about 24 inches in length and about 3 inches (when folded so 6 really) in width and turned that inside out.

4. when you sew the top to the bottom, one side of the strap is going to go inside and the other side is going to go outside.

heres a quick little picture to better understand this.

i liked the dress and wasnt about to spend $48 on something i could make for less than $2. literally, this fabric was $1 a yard. so here it is.

you can wear it either way.

9  princess for the day. [idea] in Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage by justxlove on: May 23, 2007 01:47:32 PM
so this is for my friends sweet sixteen.
at first i was going with the sixteen candles kinda idea
but it just turned into princessy.
but anyhow. i bought most of it and just decorated it.

here it is all together, the only thing i didnt make was the wand.

an a for ashley. i got the foam letter and added the sequins. and it took hours.  Shocked

a cupcake for her birthday.

a little princess sign that i simply stuck sequins on.

some silly shades that i decorated.

and a crown which im not all that crazy about.

oh and i almost forgot the card. it totally doesnt match the theme but is probably my favorite part.

does anyone have any other ideas on what i could add?

10  the boyfriends mom checked off now what about my own mother. in Mother's Day by justxlove on: April 30, 2007 08:39:22 PM
so this is what i did for my boyfriends mom.
she likes animal print so i found this perfect.
and the mismatched buttons are my favorite.
i also saw somewhere on here where someone
made a tea cup candle and i plan to do that
with a beautiful coffee cup.

thats the card.

now heres the question, what to do for my own mother.
shes very religious but then again not.
she just likes things like crosses and christian music.
any ideas?  Undecided
