1691  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Re: Which project would you recommend for an advanced beginner. 2 choices. on: January 30, 2006 02:17:11 PM
The spiderweb capelet is a little more straight forward/easy/fun, imo. (Be sure to get the pattern correction off the website!!!) The stitch pattern is a little awkward at first but once you get it, it's a lot of fun. I made 3 of these for Christmas gifts because they knit up fairly quickly and are such a romantic/feminine gift.  Smiley
1692  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Confessions of a knitting addict... on: January 30, 2006 02:06:21 PM
I have to confess I am a hat addict. I *love* knitting hats and nearly every person I know has received a hat from me at one time or another. It's become a bit of a running gag with people who know me that I am always knitting hats. Right now I have 3 seperate hat projects going. Am I the only person with an item fetish?  Cheesy
1693  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Knitting Pet Peeves on: January 30, 2006 02:02:56 PM
I hate yarn snobs. I love to work with nice, expensive yarns as much as the next person but sometimes the ol' budget just doesn't allow that. Not to mention there are some really fun/pretty/funky gems in the $1.99 bin at JoAnn's. Don't knock 'em til you try 'em people!  Grin
1694  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Peruvian Yarn help on: January 29, 2006 12:23:08 PM
My sister-in-law recently brought me back some skiens of yarn from Peru. It's 100% baby alpaca and just the softest stuff I have ever touched. The problem is ... I have NO idea what to do with it! It's about the weight of sock-yarn, but I don't want to make a pair of socks with it because I want to be able to show it off to the world! Any suggestions ideas for something neat to show it off?  Huh
