1  Craft Swaps / ACTIVE SWAPS WHERE SIGN-UP PERIOD HAS CLOSED / Re: Superhero and Comic Fans Swap (SENDOUT BY 5/21/13) on: May 20, 2013 02:27:45 PM
The 20th is also my birthday Grin. I'm still crafting as well; I would guess I'm around 60% done, so ill be sent out in plenty of time

Happy Birthday!!

Aww, thanks partner Smiley I seem to be having a great streak of birthday luck today. First there are all the money-filled thoughtful family birthday cards in the mail, then I get math student of the week and a $5.00 gift card, and THEN I get randomly selected for a $5.00 Subway gift card through a dog exercise team I'm part of. Doesn't get much better than that Wink

I can't wait to send out tomorrow! I hope you like everything, bethimusprime. I am so happy with everything I made for you. My creativity was really flowing this swap!

I've got my ideas, now I just need a good day to sit down and do something! Both of our puppies are graduating from their classes this week, so no more obedience to go to, so hopefuly I'll have some time opening up to work.

I'm still here. I haven't gotten much done because I have another swap I'm trying to get out the door this week, but once it's sent I'll have more time to devote to my partner!

I'm so sorry I haven't updated lately; I haven't had much time to relax and edit pictures.

Let's see. . . we've been up to a LOT lately! Here are some pics of the Lite Bright 5K and the Scamper Run I did. The Scamper one was a puppy run. Bee rode in the arm band that my phone goes in Smiley

We got pizza afterward at Pizza Ranch, the BEST PIZZA PLACE EVER. Thin crust alfredo with mushrooms, tomatoes, and chicken. YUM.

The I took the ACTs. I also did the SATs, but I have no pictures from that.

We got ice cream after the SATs. This is butter cream with gummy bears Wink

Bee helped me make a necklace for my aunt's trip to Germany. She's giving it to her hostess as a gift. I'm sure you've seen the design on Pinterest.

We saw the blow up monsters at Pat Clemmons Auto's annual "monster sale".

We also visited the Almost Home animal shelter to visit the kitties. It's a no-kill shelter, so we get a lot of animals from there.

I'll leave you with this somewhat distrubing image. Our school principal found this in the front seat of his car with no identification other than the name "Mary Greene" on a tag on its wrist. He gave it to my art teacher thinking we might be able to do something with it. So, naturally, we put a face and hat on it and gave it a sign to scare little kids Tongue

I've been researching medieval knitting. Its mostly small things like hats or bags. Everything I"d knitted up to this point is perfect preperation for making these items.

I hope I get paired with someone who'd want some knitted items. I'd love to try to make something.

I'll even buy wool to make it authentic. I might even dye it Cheesy

Excited that its almost partner time.

That sounds really cool. I've always admired knitting since I can't do it. If we were to be partnered, I would definitely love something knitted!

My Saturday is going to be awesome! I'm not allowed to go see Iron Man 3 Friday night because I have to be in a town an hour away from us by 7:30 in the morning, but Sat. fixes everything! I go to Ames to take SATs, then head over to Mayhem Comics for some freebies, then go see the new movie. Complete nerd weekend!

I also started one of my projects. It makes me chuckle every time I look at it Wink

I've kind of checked out a bit, but I swear Bee and I are still adventuring! I'll post pics tonight.

I am on a roll today...I have done another one, anatomical hearts on red fabric this time.

I really love the black hearts overprinted on the red ones. One of my themes was anatomy. Maybe we'll get partnered!

My teacher uses the vinyl method to teach screenprint at school because is much easier with large classes than the emulsion method. It works really well. I do prefer emulsion though because I can make much more detailed prints, but it's more time intensive
