1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: The Crazy Scarf Dress on: July 30, 2012 10:29:17 PM
What a great dress!  Why did you take it apart?  I would wear the heck out of that dress :-)

I've missed you guys!  Love that baby hat with the "1" on it!  And the Knight Playset is awesome!

I have made a Domo Kun t-shirt for my [now] seven year old, as well as a smaller version of the Horadric Cube which I made for my older son (no pics yet).

Also made this charm bracelet for my sister-in-law (those round things are actually pink miracle beads):

As a matter of fact, I did make Valentine's gifts!  I decided to make the "52 Reasons I Love You" books for my husband and three kids...started in early January and didn't finish in time.  I gave them the books anyway and promised to finish them up (which I did).  They all loved them!  Even the non-reader Smiley

Also, I would like to publicly acknowledge a wonderful Craftster on this board:  Pincushion_Queen  She made my youngest son an incredible T-Shirt without expecting anything in return!  He absolutely loves the shirt Smiley

Teamama:  Your hoop is awesome!  I love it, and I bet your BFF does too Smiley  Don't be surprised if she hangs it somewhere in a place of honor for everyone to see!

Teamama & Maxxev - Congratulations on your "Best of Craftster" wins!!!  You totally deserved it!!

Lt. Crunch - Love the Dragonball Smiley

FYI, everyone - The Domo T-shirt was a big hit - Yay!

So, yesterday, my daughter announces that she's been invited to a classmate's bday party tomorrow!  Yikes!  He's turning 8 and one of the things she said he liked is Domo, so I made this T-Shirt:

The mouth is appliqued felt, and the eyes are buttons.

I love rough diamonds!  Never thought of putting them in a ring - this is so pretty!

My year is not off to a great start, crafting-wise  Undecided

I haven't finished the aprons for the twins, and have instead begun valentine's presents for my kids...I'm making each kid a "52 Reasons I love you" book...

Well, tomorrow I begin my first handmade gifts in 2012!  The twins up the street are turning eight, and I'm going to make them aprons.

I'll post pics before I give them away Smiley

Hawkeye's Girl & Teamamma, you guys rock!  Here is my list of my completed handmade gifts (with reactions):

Elder son:  Horadric cube (big hit), Cpt. America T-shirt (he was gracious, but hasn't worn it)
Daughter:  T-shirt (turned out to be a failure after attempting to wash), Naruto headbands (big hit), Stocking cap (she wasn't thrilled)
Younger son:  Stocking cap (not a big hit, but he has worn it), Naruto headbands (big hit)

Hubby:  Snake scarf in his college colors (he's only worn it in the house), Space Oddity book (he already knew about it)

Dad:  Cow Pillow, Snail Hat, Oven Mitts (all well received)

MIL: Library book stack necklace (she liked it and immediately put it on)

BFF:  Wonder Woman bracelet (she said the style matched some X-Men earrings she just got)
Hubby of BFF:  Space Oddity book (big hit - he sang the whole song)

Other completed gifts:
5 snake scarves
Cherry Skull earrings
Zombie Apocalyse T-Shirt
Stone pendant necklace

So...what I've learned from this experience....

  • Some people are easier to craft for than others.
  • Kids really only want toys.
  • I need lots and lots of time to do this.
