1  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Sentimental t-shirt collection on: June 23, 2011 02:38:27 PM
I have this box of old t-shirts that I've been collecting for years.  There are 22 shirts in the box.  Every time I go through it saying I'm going to part with them, I get all nostalgic sentimental and don't want to throw away any of them!

Some are from plays I was in as a middle school and high school student.  Some are from volunteer work I did during college.  Some are from internet meet ups and reunions.  Each has some sort of emblem or writing on it that is representative of the event I participated in.  Some of the writing and emblems are bigger than others.

They are really just gathering dust and it seems like a bit of a waste.  I'd really love to reuse them and make something new and useful out of them.  I'm pretty open to how they get used, as long as their unique emblems or writing get preserved or used in the project- even if eventually they will be worn out.  If they were worn out, I might not mind throwing them away so much, but most of these are in good condition- I just don't fit into them any more.

Thoughts?
2  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: Squirrel hollow on: June 05, 2011 07:00:39 PM
If the "flaw" is that this is too cute for words, than I totally see it. This turned out great!

Very creative reuse of cereal boxes!  The look is fantastic.  I love it!  Thanks for sharing!

5  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Re: Should I open a second shop? on: June 01, 2011 09:42:13 AM
You could open a second shop to keep things separate, but then you have two shops to keep organized.  It'd be a lot of extra work to create and run.  It's easier to just start a new section in your already existing shop.

I don't think your two concepts are so different that they couldn't work in the same shop.

I also think you might want to look at Etsy's policies and terms.  I'm not sure if they have rules about how many shops a single person can have.
6  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: The NeverEnding Story Swap (sign-ups 5/22/11-6/14/11; send-outs 7/5/11) on: May 25, 2011 03:22:26 PM
I know I indicated I was interested.  But that was before I read the rules for swaps.  Sadly, I'm too new of a user to get in on anything yet.  Sorry about that.

I hope it takes off, though.  I'd really love to see some of the projects inspired by the Neverending Story!

That green daisy fabric is adorable!  Awesome job on both dresses.
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Handpainted Silk & Lattice Smocking (2 Dresses!) on: May 24, 2011 09:26:34 PM
Both are beautiful dresses, but I just love the color of the first.  So pretty!

Hello all!   I've been a guest on craftster for a while and finally made an account this week.  Lately I've been making lots of soap and bath products. I also like to crochet, sew, and make journals.

I joined craftster to get some new ideas and learn some new techniques.
