Wow, I love the creative presentation of the Playboy Barbie scandal...Great job!  Her pompoms are mesmerizing.

And OMG, I just have to say, I have an obese Siamese mix cat as well!  And a black cat (they're actually brothers, but they don't look alike).  And the obese one has similar colors to yours, you know, like he's a Siamese that's been put in a blender, with his colors all in the wrong places.  Does yours have blue eyes too?

These are so great!  I love little scenes like that. Perfect use of the materials!

No no Stifflersmom!!

Im so sorry you have all that stuff and I just ruined it by telling you to send it to America!  I told you all not to send my packages until you got your own, so you did nothing wrong, Im sorry your package from me came so late!!! Its so not your fault!

Im coming back to Japan for a little while (a week or 2) after I travel and will see some of my students again.  I can give you my friends address to send the stuff, and that way I will get to see it sooner, too! More on this later, Ill PM you.

No worries! (Sorry I didnt write sooner, im at an internet cafe right now bc my internet completely quit!!)

Guys, thank you for all the compliments on the stuff I got you, you are so appreciative, to think I worried that it wouldn't be enough!  But I think you all underestimate the value of your handmade things!!!!!!  The things I have received so far I could never make myself, and stand in awe of...they take time and materials and a good eye, among other things!

I am sad that I am leaving Japan in only 9 days!!!  Cry So for those of you who just received your packages (Pink Mafia, Stifflersmom) and have yet to send, you should probably send them to my USA address, which I can PM you with, no worries!! I will be travelling in Southeast Asia for two months before I return to the US, and so won't physically get the stuff until then, but I might have my family take pics so I and everyone else can see online!

By the way I STILL have to post the AMAZING BAG I got from KRISTEN81 and the LOVELY, COMFY DRESS I got from WASHU.  Pics are coming!!!!! My internet is being flighty, and after over 45 min trying to connect, I have only now been able to post this message, so I apologize that I haven't posted pics yet.

Thanks everyone!!!

Ahhhh!  That's gorgeous!  I love the monofilament stems!  I am kind of a newbie, I wish I had known about this swap, especially if people were making things like this!  How long did it take to make?  Those flowers look really hard to bunch and sew down. Wow.

A really tasteful yet playful reconstruction.  Really professional looking. Definitely clicked "This Rocks."

What a cool way to use a clock!  You have a good eye for remaking things.

Perfect, awesome, I'm speechless.  I have always wanted to do something with broken mirror.  You're my hero.

What a great bunch of goodies! I'm glad the pendant I made for you is different. Phew! Cheesy
I'm still waiting for mine to arrive. Waiting is soooo hard!

Can you tell me about that wooden doll in the background of your pic? I have four of them I found at the thrift store. I have no idea what they are all about, but I had to adopt them. Cheesy

I'm so sorry yours hasn't arrived yet!  I hope it comes really soon...stupid international shipping, you can never guess how long it will take...

Oh! The wooden dolls are both Japanese kokeshi dolls.  You are so lucky to have found 4 at a thrift store...they can be worth a lot of money.  But even better, they're wonderful.  I have been told that kokeshi dolls were made to represent the spirit of children, among other things.  The tall one I found at a thrift store as well (and is more of the antiquey style) and the small one my boyfriend bought (for himself, he likes them...cute right?).  I love them- I have even featured some in my reconned thrift art (Magical Marsh Nymph *with kokeshi doll dragonflies*) for the craft challenge that's going on right now.

Love it...thought the same thing when I saw it, that it looks like the Urban Outfitters graphics that I love so much too.

I would actually love to hang something like this on my wall, and you know you've really accomplished something because I would NEVER have hung the original up.  This is such a smart, pretty transformation.
