1  Craft Swaps / ACTIVE SWAPS WHERE SIGN-UP PERIOD HAS CLOSED / Re: Mini 12 Days of Christmas 2017 (sign up 7/18 to 8/4/17; s/o 11-25-17) on: August 17, 2017 10:52:51 PM
The first week of school is next week, so for the past two weeks I been in orientation, training, and preparation mode.

Here is your Christmasy questions this week:

I remember reading an excerpt from The Little House of the Prairie about how the girls dug a copper cup and a coin out of their stockings. A sweet story of simplicity.

I remember how my relatives would tell me about their excitement getting oranges out of their stockings.

What was your favorite thing to dig out of your stocking when you were little

And what is one of your favorite Christmas stories?

Hey there! Partners assigned and surveys sent. Please let me know if I overlooked anything.

Remember to post at least once a week. I will try to make fun questions to keep the thread active.

So, yay for partners!

Hello everyone, especially those who have waited on me! I have added a bunch of new people to our swap. Welcome!

Today was the last day of our Summer Enrichment program, aka summer school, so I was tying up all the loose ends.

Partners Saturday!!

Much appreciate all the international swappers! You all make my job a bit easier.
7  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Unicorn snorts...who knew? on: July 28, 2017 07:08:02 PM
You did a fantastic job. Awhile back, I bought a set of animal quilt postcards. They were museum pieces. I could see this along side them.

9  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Nevertheless, She Persisted on: July 27, 2017 10:23:51 PM
You do such great work. I love how you did the outline in different colors with solid wings.

Love the quote too!

Prior to moving, my homestate was Kentucky. I believe dear Ole' Mitch has been in office for as long as I have been alive. Too many sitting in office are not too comfortable sharing the workforce with women, something so new for them I think. But Murkowski, here in Alaska, is sure given them a run for their money.  . . . . sorry to get political.
10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Mini Perler Bead Holly Christmas Earrings on: July 27, 2017 10:16:13 PM

I made these earrings for the Christmas in July swap. I picked up a mini perler bead keep to try things out. I found that the mini perler beads melt QUICK. I barely had to touch the beads for a second or so before it was fused. I sort of estimated a pattern as I went, because I was just experimenting and did not expect it to work.

I found the beads when I was shopping with my son. He had to build a diorama for class on Charlie and the Glass Elevator. He ended up using a clear plastic container and building all the characters and the bed using perler beads. We have a lot of fun with perler beads at my house.
