81  Re: Three Tiny TV Things - Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Helena Puck on: June 28, 2012 10:26:53 AM
Here are the goodies that stitchzBstitchz sent me which includes a MASH card, a vintage She-Ra action figure, Lilypad and Marshmallow artwork inspired by my favorite episode of How I Met Your Mother, a Golden Girls Hoop of my favorite Rose quote with a nice completed back, and a Baby Finn Keychain also inspired by my favorite episode where Baby Finn singing after his bath.

She even included the words to the song on a card attached to the wrapped package. I was squealing while opening it as I was singing the song.

Each item was individually wrapped with little cards on it. The How I Met your Mother picture had a little umbrella drawn on it and the shipping box had the Frasier logo drawn on it. She had little funny details to each little thing to reflect exactly what I liked about the shows.

I love the black felt outline around Finn. The whole image is hilarious and I love that I'm going to bring him with me along with my Bohemian Highway wine cork and a plastic barrel of monkeys.

Here is a close up of the Rose quote Hoop

The quote says "Well it's been my experience that the people who talk about it a lot don't do it very often" You gotta love Rose's subtly.

I just love everything. Thanks so much stitchzBstitchz! I really hope you like what I sent as much I as like what you've sent.

I just received my package from gotgrey. It is absolutely colossal.

It is hard to know where to start so I'll begin with this plush Dumbo

And here are handpainted wood pieces (that look like parts of a fence post?) of our favorite characters. Which is a wonderfully clever idea! Elizabeth was so nice to include my husbands two favorite characters Pinocchio and Donald Duck and my newest favorite Merida from Brave. Also, there is a small canvas painting of Maleficent one of my favorite Disney villains, two woodburned hand painted boxes of Woody and Buzz, and a Woody room sign for my son.

She also drew a couple of pictures from my pinterest board, one of Belle and the other of Pan's Shadow.

And three Disney books, Goofy, A Bug's Life, and Dumbo

And here is the other artwork included: Simba, Mom and Dumbo, Merida, Dumbo crying, Silhouettes of Beast and Belle, and two pictures of Pascal. Sorry to cut out Simba's ear. It was hard to fit everything in the picture.

Here is a embroidery hoop of Stitch and Scrump, a painted Tangle Sun, a princess tower with my name on it, and a handmade Belle Calendar with a Ariel address book.

Here is a close up on my favorite extra, a bride Snow White and Sneezy

And here is the group shots

The fabric is a Pinocchio book, the plastic of pairs painting kit includes a castle, a dragon, knight, princess, and wizard.

Two totes for my boys

Jakob just received his amazing package from Tucker today. And here is what he received.

Here is a group shot with all the extras: a wooden puzzle, avengers markers, Spider-man notebook with a package of stickers, and a box of Runts candy.

The Spider-Man towel has his name on it in the center.

There is a Spider-Man pillow case! Adorable.

A Mason Jar Mummy container because Jakob loves mummies!

And a SpongeBob rock because Jakob has a rock collection. This rock is going to look great next to the painted rocks that Jakob has made and the one he purchased on the 5th grade entrepreneur fair.

Everything is wonderful. He is so excited. I hope Tucker likes what we've made as much as Jakob enjoys his goodies.

86  Glitterblast altered trinket shelf -- picture heavy in Completed Projects by Helena Puck on: June 16, 2012 11:04:27 PM
I hope this is the right place to put this. I used this glitter blast tutorial for dino ornaments to alter this wooden shelf that had seen better days due to spending about 10 or so years in a possibly damp storage shed.

Here is what I started with. You can't tell by this picture but one of the planks of the shelves has a noticeable fraying area which could have been a result of a bite from an animal or from being dropped.

Here is what it looked like with the base color. I almost left it this color after I was finished but I went ahead and added glitter blast anyway. I love glitter blast.

I wanted a trinket shelf because I had lots of little goodies that deserved a home instead of a drawer, as you can see from the picture I have a little bit of everything: Polly Pocket She-Ra dolls, small action figures, a vintage mickey pez dispenser, random figures, an angel from a broken but very loved wind chime given to me by a close friend for my first apartment, clay mushrooms and a needle felted pig from my wonderful whimsy partner NH822, my husband's painted RGP minis, my son's clay creations, figurine candles, pipe cleaner creatures made by ChenilleMacabre on Etsy that I bought my husband for various holidays, my favorite wooden finger puppet I made when I was nine, a painted piggie on a watermelon gourd that my oldest son bought at a craft show, mini Star Trek ships, and a tiny crocheted octopus my husband put in last year's stocking. All these special little treasures needed a home.

My only compliant is that I hung it in a corner near a bookshelf. So to really look in it, you have to walk to the end of the room.

Thanks for looking. Since taking the pictures, I've been adding little things my boys have painted across the top.

87  Re: Dinosaur Swap Round 3 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Helena Puck on: June 02, 2012 02:16:50 PM
I received an amazing and MASSIVE package from Gotgrey today and with two six and eight year old boys, it was hard to hold them back especially once they saw

It had cute little dino drawings on it too. The dinosaurs were pleading me to set them free.

Here is the first peak inside

Here is a group shot (sorry it's not as clear as I would have liked it to be. I was rushing because I had very excited little ones) Across the back of the couch are two bags: a large dino tote (perfect for beach towels when we go to the pool) and a painted dino purse. Under the large tote, there is a little wood bowl with hand drawn dinos decoupaged around it. Inside the bowl are the eggs filled with squishy dinos.

Here is a close up of the elasmosaurus plushy- He is huge and I love him!

This is a play mat for the boys with a path, volcano and a tree for their bag of plastic dinosaurs she sent.

Again, please excuse the picture. There are three dino books for the boys, including Danny and the Dinosaur. I loved that book when I was little and I'm so happy to share it with my boys. A sign for Bailey's room with dino eggs attached, a dino hoopla, more plastic dinos, teradactyl artwork, and a cute dino drawing on the letter.

Here is a picture of the three part bronto painting and a LittleFoot picture

And, a plushy triceratops, painted gourd brontosaurs, paisley bronto plushy, a cute plastic dino, playdough, and a dino dig egg.

She also sent me a simplicity dino pattern with some fabric, a dino stencil that you can't see from the pictures, and a dino painting set. My boys and I have lots of new projects to work on.

I just love everything. I think my favorites are the three dino plushies. They are so very cool. Did you use a pattern for them or did you create the designs yourself. They are really awesome.

88  Land Before Time's Littlefoot in Needlework: Completed Projects by Helena Puck on: May 31, 2012 12:36:40 PM
I made this for my partner in the Dinosaur swap. We are both fans of Land Before Time.

I traced a baby picture of Littlefoot I found online and backstitched the design on a light brown piece of fabric. It was surprisingly simple and didn't take very long at all.

89  Re: Make-a-Friend Swap Round 9 :: Summer 2012 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by Helena Puck on: May 31, 2012 11:51:31 AM
I received my package from Luanne

Here is the group shot:

Pictured is Hello Kitty sticker sheets, Sock Monkey journal (which I hope to start using this summer when I take my kids letterboxing), an owl erase on a tree pencil sharpener, an owl nail file, Red beaded earrings with a matching bracelet, a yellow beaded coiled bracelet, photo ornament, Hello Kitty zipper case with candy, bicycle clips, magnetic bookmark, and a large piece of kitty fabric

Here is a closeup of the fabric, magnetic bookmark's quote, and the bicycle paper clips

Everything is awesome and I loved the letter. What a great way to get to know someone!
