81  Re: Craft My Character Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Helena Puck on: February 02, 2013 12:36:01 PM
Here is the package I received from smileyyogini.

Here is a group shot of EVERYTHING! Please excuse the blur. I knew I wouldn't be able to hold the kids back for too long. My son put his little blue fluffy in the picture too just because.

All the goodies fit inside the AWESOME mockingjay draw-string bag. The bag is made from a nice soft t-shirt material with a pink mockingjay design crocheted onto the solid gray crocheted background. I've never seen anything like this is it so freaking cool!

Melody also included goodies for my boys: a mario kart eraser board, a Super hero Squad sticker book, a Spider-man paint set, and Iggy Moshi Monster McD's toy. Thank you thank you thank you! We missed when Iggy was released and my son was so sad about it. I've been looking everywhere for one and asking around. Melody found it for me.

She also sent some wonderful pieces of candy. The dark sea salt chocolate is my husband's favorite and she sent some pomegranate chocolate for me. I'm not sure but she must have checked out all the pomegranate from my Etsy favorites page.

Since I love paper crafts, she also include a tiny shaped punch for my collection.

Last but not least, she made the coolest Wonder Woman goodies!! An apron and a pair of fingerless gloves. It came just in time too. Weather was getting warmer than all of a sudden snow is falling and schools are closing.

Here are some close ups so you all can see the amazingness!

Great job Melody on your first swap! Wonderful job! I love everything!

82  Re: mini 12 days of christmas 2012 gallery in The Swap Gallery by Helena Puck on: December 09, 2012 08:46:28 AM

Day 12- This painted fence post Elizabeth made for my dad. It's our golden retriever holding a felt bone. It was inspired by the funny story I always tell about my dad to tease him. When I was little, our dog got loose and ran to the door. I was trying to explain to my dad that Jewels was holding something strange and we need to get it from her before letting her in. As a began my protest, he screamed, "Let her in" so loudly that it scared everyone. I smiled and said, "fine." Jewelry proudly laid the deer leg at his feet. He turns to me sheepishly and said, "Why did you let her in?" He's going to love this little fence post doggie.

Day 11

A Schnauzer painted fence post! This one is for my mother-in-law. Elizabeth has helped me complete my Christmas List.

Day 10

A Hippo painted fence post for my sister who collects hippos!

Day 9

An Elephant painted fence post for my dad's girlfriend who collects elephants!

Day 8

A clay snake ornament for my uncle who raises snakes.
I love all the beads that make a neat pattern across the scales.

Day 7

This one is for Bailey- Penguin bobble head and Red angry Bird and penguin perler bead ornaments

Day 6

This was Jakob's package that he got to open now that they are on break. He's very excited about all his goodies: the Spider-Man drawstring bag, perler bead dolphin, and a Spider-Man action figure. He's been in love with dolphins ever since he watched the movie A Dolphin Tale about Winter. He's Spider-Man obsessed!

Day 5

I had to snapped this picture quickly before everything was snagged by the boys. Jakob has already built the plane. There are lots of goodies: Rex zipper pouch, wood plane kit, paper airplane kit/paper, pencils, embroidery kit, candy, pencils, car erasers wooden car, snap together plane kit, and a snowflake magic towel.

Day 4

A painted fence post of St. Francis of Assis, my husband's patron saint. LOVE IT!!

Day 3

Here is my painted fence post of William Shakespeare which I'll be using as my future classroom totem. He's so awesome!!! I just love him. He's the best thing ever! Sorry to open a bit early. My family will be getting together tomorrow.

Day 2

A beautiful selection of vintage jewelry including rhinestone brooches.

Day 1

An orange basket filled with mermaid quilted napkins

83  Adventure Time - Picture Heavy - 5 Character Hoops in Needlework: Completed Projects by Helena Puck on: September 22, 2012 05:22:06 AM
Here is a set of hoops I made for our Adventure Time Swap. I tried to include as many favorite characters as I could create using some of the images posted on my partner's pinterest board.

I really loved making Marcelina but I wasn't sure what stitch to use for the guitar strings. I thought about drawing it in but I was afraid to ruin it. Does anyone have suggests about how to create guitar strings or which stitches to use for the guitar strings?

I forgot to take an individual picture of Beemo so here is a couple shot taken in my light box.

84  Re: Awesome Adventure Time Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Helena Puck on: August 18, 2012 01:09:22 PM
Gotgrey sent me the most amazing package fun of Adventure Time goodness. She also sent some extras for this year's She-Ra Halloween costume that included a pattern, gold fabric, and a wood stylus.

First, here is the canvas artwork inspired by some of the things I've pinned on pinterest. I love all the people from the Candy Kingdom. They look so yummy:

Here is more artwork that include more of my favorite characters. I love Flame Princess and Marceline. There are also some clay goodies of Finn and Jake. They fit perfectly on my trinket shelf. My husband loves the Star Wars picture which he quickly claimed. I love the LSP picture with the game pieces. Her felt body is mounted on a piece of wood. And, it looks like we were thinking some of the same things with Lady Rainicorn. . .

And, check out the most amazing LIFE SIZE Adventure Time plush that Elizabeth designed.

Here is what happened when the boys got home from school. They were already making their claims. We decided to share.

Jakob wanted to make sure that Elizabeth knew how much he loves all the plush she has sent. Here he is hugging Finn. Bailey was riding Lady Rainicorn and loving on the penguin. I really love the body shape of the penguin.

Thanks again Elizabeth. You were OVERTHETOP! I really hope you'll like what I'm making you. I'll probably get it finished right at the send out date. Everything is absolutely amazing. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

85  Re: Make-a-Friend Swap Round 9 :: Summer 2012 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by Helena Puck on: August 06, 2012 09:51:57 AM
Everyone, prepare to be amazed. Here is what Lunanne sent me for package #3.

First, here are the extras she sent for the boys ran off with their goodies. I had to take the picture quickly.

The extras include: three sheets of compressed sponge to cut into shapes, pencil pouches full of character candy and character pens, a paper suitcase traveling sewing kit, animal and robot stickers, smurfy stickers, superhero wrapping paper, toy story and spiderman notepads and wall decals, bear molds, band-aids, baby smurf charm, and the pocketsize bear embroidery/cross stitch book.

Here is a page from the little teddy bear book full of wonderful embroidery and cross stitch patterns:

more smurfy extras and the toy hammock

Here is another picture of the toy hammock because it's amazing. I've been really wanting one for the boys room. It's made with acrylic yarn and it's a perfect triangular shape. I'll have pictures later when I hang it in the boys room.

And, last but not least, an amazing purse made of thick brown corduroy, lined with a nice green material, adorned with a button tree. I had tons of button art pinned in pinterest. I'm so happy she decided to make the tree on the bag. It's perfect for me, matches everything I own, including the couch. Sorry about the picture.

Here is a close up of the tree.

Thanks again Lunanne! I love everything!

Received package #2 from Lunanne which included a DIY needlefelting kit using all colors needed for a mermaid on my pinterest list, completed needlefelted ball earrings, a flower pin, and a fishy, and my personal favorite, directly off my favorites list a Wonder Woman woven bead bracelet.

Here is a close up of the bracelet. It fits perfectly and she found the perfect star shaped toggle. I'm so overwhelmed by the detail and work that went into this bracelet. I just love it!

88  Re: Kids' Craft Swap Round 5 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by Helena Puck on: July 06, 2012 09:08:56 AM
Bailey received his package from Alexander! He really loves everything. I think his favorite was the pink penguin because he ran off with it before realizing there was more.

Here is a group shot that includes the pink penguin, a painted black angry bird frame (his favorite of the angry birds), a Styrofoam Kirby with a home to decorate, beaded bracelet and keyrings, and a couple of extra goodies of a paper car and airplane kit.

Here is a close up of the extras and the Alex's beadwork. He was extremely creative with his designs, some of the beads make a little later and he's combined animal beads with the other beads:

We took quite a few pictures to get everything. Here is a picture of Bailey dancing the penguin in front of the camera.

Here is a close up of the frame which is super cool! This was a really clever way to create the black angry bird and we knew instantly what it was.

Here is a picture of Kirby in his house. This was a very clever idea! I think this one was my favorite. I'd love a tutorial as I've never worked with this medium before. I love the note about decorating the house because that is Bailey's favorite thing to do in Kirby Epic Yarn and he loves setting up little houses for his toys.

Thank you Alex!

Wooden painted pumpkins with great expressions

Day 12
Lots of clothespin ghosts!

Sorry to post early. I'm going to be gone most of tomorrow. So I get a chance to share the clay ornaments one day earlier with you. Aren't they cute!?! love the mixture of colors.

Day 10

Check out all my spoilage! Here is a pink Bat plushy for my son, a writing pad, Halloween Cards, a beautiful Owl necklace (that I wore today), painted Vampire boy ornament, two butterfly cross stitch kits (because I love needlecrafts), pencils, a lip zipper pouch, and a Madame Alexander Wicked Witch toy.

Day 9
I got lots of goodies today. Hoops of Frankenstein and his bride silhouettes, glow in the dark skeleton hoop, a wolfman portrait for my husband, a bat fabric pot holder, a bat picture, an owl window hanging inside a neat bat bag, and a tiny framed bat embroidery

Here is a close up of the glow in the dark Skeleton "X-Ray" hoop (Love the fabric)

Here is the wolfman!!!

Day 8

IT'S JACK AND SALLY!!! painted a a piece of wood and an altered altoid tin with a painted skeleton inside for my other son.

Also included is a stack of Halloween books including the classic Georgie the Ghost, a personal favorite; a monster mug and saucer, a painted owl shaker (which I believe was supposed to be for day 2- sorry), a kitty key holder, a bag of plastic insects for my boys which include some of the biggest creepiest plastic spiders I have EVER seen, adorable wooden bead pumpkin earrings hanging on an image of She-Ra which will be my new bookmark, and the coolest Swift Wind necklace EVER.

Day 7
Today is PLUSHIES Day!!!
Please excuse the bad lighting. This was the only picture that didn't turn out too blurry. The plushies include a purple sock kitty, a candy corn sock cat (that will be going in my office), a pumpkin guy and a scarecrow that look great together-very primitive style, and a pink sock dog.

Here's another of the sock cat

Day 6

Here is my newest favorite- a beautiful Ghost artwork based on something I pinned on pinterest. I LOVE IT!!!

AND, gotgrey also included a Charlie Brown quilt, a pumpkin pillow, a huge stack of sewing patterns, spider webs, and more craft supplies for the boys.

I'll have pictures of the door full of webbing later Smiley

Just because you must see the full beauty of this Charlie Brown quilt

Day 5

Day 5 was full of little painted haunted houses, someone else wanted to be in the picture too. Jakob says hi! There are cute little three dimensional monster stickers on the houses. We are going to make a Halloween village with the web as the ground.

I forgot to mention that there were also other items that I did not take pictures of because my boys ran off with them as I was opening things. The items include: a pumpkin pail, a package of 6 orange candles, and a spider-web craft kit. The pail was being used for pretend trick or treating as they picked up other surprises throughout the house. They are loving this swap.

Day 4

Fence Post people!! Which includes a mummy, a witch, vampire, Frankenstein, and a cat.

Here is what they look like outside. I kept the mummy inside just in case on the bookshelf. Plus, it makes my son happy to have him around.

AND, here are four paper mache goodies. I haven't decided whether to put them in a wooden bowl in the center of the table or to put the mushroom next to my smurfies. After having finished the Once Upon a Time series, I am really digging the apples. The picture doesn't to the flower shape much justice because it  looks like a beautiful patchwork full of beautiful colored patterns.

Day 3
Big bright Spider for Jakob!! Here he is pretending the spider is eating him.

And, scarecrow bag with a witch fabric background

Day 2
Salt and Pepper Shakers!

Here is a hand painted S shaker! Unfortunately, the P shaker shattered. But  gotgrey generously sent a replacement, a beautiful vintage owl shaker- making a great and charming little mismatched pair  Grin

Day 1

A Beautiful table runner

embellished with beautiful fall leaves!

Here are the goodies that stitchzBstitchz sent me which includes a MASH card, a vintage She-Ra action figure, Lilypad and Marshmallow artwork inspired by my favorite episode of How I Met Your Mother, a Golden Girls Hoop of my favorite Rose quote with a nice completed back, and a Baby Finn Keychain also inspired by my favorite episode where Baby Finn singing after his bath.

She even included the words to the song on a card attached to the wrapped package. I was squealing while opening it as I was singing the song.

Each item was individually wrapped with little cards on it. The How I Met your Mother picture had a little umbrella drawn on it and the shipping box had the Frasier logo drawn on it. She had little funny details to each little thing to reflect exactly what I liked about the shows.

I love the black felt outline around Finn. The whole image is hilarious and I love that I'm going to bring him with me along with my Bohemian Highway wine cork and a plastic barrel of monkeys.

Here is a close up of the Rose quote Hoop

The quote says "Well it's been my experience that the people who talk about it a lot don't do it very often" You gotta love Rose's subtly.

I just love everything. Thanks so much stitchzBstitchz! I really hope you like what I sent as much I as like what you've sent.
