1  Re: For the love of Cupcakes round 3 gallery in The Swap Gallery by Sweets85 on: July 20, 2011 10:59:23 AM
My parcel from purplepaisley arrived today, thank you so much for making my first swap such an enjoyable experience!

First up is a set of 4 cupcake placemats.

Then an apron with a little beaded cupcake on the pocket which is just adorable. And I'm so happy the apron has a pocket, I hate aprons without them as I always need one!

And then a make-up bag in a wonderful cupcake fabric

Thank You!

2  Skull Scarf in Knitting: Completed Projects by Sweets85 on: June 06, 2011 11:23:07 AM
I knitted this from ysolda's pattern for my hubby. He asked for it to be obnoxiously long so I knit 2 panels of 4 skulls each and then joined them together so that the skulls on the ends would all be upright. This made it to be almost 9 feet in length. Tassels were added onto the ends just for the hell of it!

I'm a slow knitter and this involved a lot of picking up and putting down.. it spent some time sat on the coffee table staring at me and making me feel guilty for not touching it!

3  Crate Cover in Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects by Sweets85 on: June 01, 2011 10:00:08 AM
We had a sheet thrown over our pup's crate to keep the light out (given a chance she'll rise with the sun, this gives us an extra hour or so), but it was loose so she could grab it and pull it through when she was bored and chew it up.

I don't fancy an expensive vets bill to remove a fabric blockage from her stomach so something needed to be made.

We visited Joanns and found a quilted fabric in their sale, $5 a yard instead of $15. I pretty much made the pattern up as I went along. On the top there's what's essentially a large buttonhole for the handle to come through and on the bottom I used webbing straps that then velcro to the sides and back to hold them down. The front is one big panel that can be rolled down and velcro-ed shut, or rolled to the top and the velcro holds it up.

I'm quite proud for an afternoons work, and Esme seems to like her new "bedroom"

4  Ponyo Baby Shower in Dessert by Sweets85 on: May 19, 2011 09:39:36 AM
Made for a friend's baby shower, it was a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream, covered in fondant. The top is made from fondant cut-outs and the sides painted reminiscent of the waves during the end credits of the film.

Picture here since I'm not allowed to post photos yet
