11  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Owl blanket and tummy pillow on: September 13, 2011 10:27:16 PM
So my cousin and his wife just had their first baby, and I had made all the other cousins baggies gifts and hopped right on doing one for them. I used a no sew fleece blanket kit that I got on sale at joanns to make these. Owls are one of my favorites so that won me over Cheesy

The tummy pillow with toys attached, great sensory toys. Oh and the color is truer in this one than the blanket

The blanket

They had a lovely baby girl by the way.
12  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Merlotte's bookmark on: September 13, 2011 10:13:01 PM
Hi all Cheesy
So I made this bookmark for the trueblood swap, it was going to be sewn onto a hand towel but things didn't work out that way haha
It's cross stitched and half stitched, I used a program to make the pattern though it wasn't an easy on. It took me about four days.
Side note and something learned, never use super glue on a cross stitch! That's what the dot is you see at the bottom.
I wrapped it in vinyl to protect it from wear. It was my first time turning a cross stitch into anything so I learned a few things Smiley

Close up, sorry the pictures were done with my phone so they aren't great
13  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Baby shower cross stitch on: August 22, 2011 05:43:25 PM
This is a cross stitch I just finished for a friends baby shower. It took me about three days on and off to finish, which I'm thankful for seeing as the baby shower is Thursday & I didn't know about it till last Friday hahah it's a pattern that I changed slightly by leaving off the baby name and birthday because they haven't picked his name yet and he isn't born yet so it got a few more stars than it would have had otherwise.

C&C welcome
14  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Halloween Embroidery or Cross Stitch on: July 27, 2011 03:06:06 PM
I know a new hoopla was posted not too long ago but how about a Halloween cross stitch or embroidery? Mostly it comes from a few Halloween patterns I have that I would love to do but have no-one to give them to and no-where to put them so thought maybe a swap. What do we think?
15  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My Very First Wallet!!! :) on: June 09, 2011 10:04:00 PM
So I have been wanting to make a wallet for sometime but all the seemed so complicated so I couldn't make myself add that on top of all my other projects. See I'm not great with zippers, the one in this is only my second or third, but this wallet was soooo easy!! All thanks to ShannyAnn and her awesome tutorial. It is the cause for my wallet craziness. I'm planning to make one for my aunts birthday using pre-quilted fabric, I'll do my best to post about how that one comes out too. I will have to remember next time to use interfacing on the flap too seeing as I used a snap instead of Velcro. All in all, from cutting to the final ironing it took about two/two & a half hours.

The outside &/or closed

Opening with coin pocket, six card slots and two larger pockets for bills or what have you

Oh, I do want to make a comment for any others that saw my summer purse post that Sophie was again helping me with this one aka sleeping on the left over fabric, if I hadn't been in the middle of cutting I would have taken a picture.

C & C welcome
Thanks for checking out the post!
16  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My Summer Bag on: June 03, 2011 02:57:19 PM
I have found myself unhappy with all the purses I have, which happens from time to time so my way fixing this is to make a new one and using this patter http://www.made-by-rae.com/2009/02/free-buttercup-bag-sewing-pattern.html  I made a cute summer bag. The fabric is called tutti-fruiti, I got it as remnants from Jo-Ann Fabrics. To go with it I made a small coin purse using an awesome tut http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EICadoBCC1s&feature=share

This is my cat Sophie, helping me cut out fabric

Thanks to Rae, and Soreribsin for the patterns and tutorials.
