1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Avengers Purse on: July 21, 2014 08:57:34 PM
Yep you read that right it's an Avengers purse!! I've had this fabric for months waiting for the right pattern to use it and I found that in a simplicty pattern(yay for 99 cent pattern sale!) the only thing I had to buy for the bag were the buckles used in the straps. It's got two pockets, a cute kinda hidden one in the front and another on the inside. The whole project didn't even take two yards of fabric. It took me about 6 hours on and off, I'm sure it could be done a lot faster in one whole sitting. Super excited to so off my nerdy goodness Cheesy

2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Cross Stitch Jewelry (picture heavy) on: March 13, 2012 09:53:56 AM
Hi, there are going to be a few projects in this post and I hope posting it here is alright. I do see them as needlework as much as if not more than jewelry.

Most are cross stitched on 28 to 32 count canvas or linen. Having cross stitched for years I've always hated that when they are done you put them on the wall and that's it, maybe make a bookmark out of them but I wanted to have a way for my friends, family and myself to show off my work. Hence my cross stitching becoming jewelry Smiley  I've yet to find the perfect thing to seal them with, right now I'm using a dry clean friendly Tacky brand glue, so that if something does happen and it gets wet it won't just fall to bits. I do make my own patterns due to the small sizes of the bezels I use, though I will use pictures or patterns for ideas or help if I get stuck while making one.

My apologies a head of time that some of the photos are crappy. Phone and Ipad pictures....sad things....  Cry

Pacman cuff link sets. I made them to be a mix and match kind of thing.

Mustache cufflinks

Star Wars Death Star keychain (made for a friends brothers birthday and it's sealed with an epoxy dome, though I haven't been having much luck with those)

My own little twist on the valentine heart candys

Mario brothers Venus flytrap key chain (made for a friends birthday, it was still drying as I drove to his party.)

A bird done for the old fashion romance swap. (I hate that I didn't get better pictures of this one, it was the hardest thing to part with I've ever made.)

A mustache necklace (a friends Christmas gift, again wish I had a better picture  Cry )

A set of wings with a hallo done for the supernatural Christmas swap. (this one is half stitched, I loved how it made it look like real feathers. I also stitched with both colors at the same time, one strand of black and one strand of pink. Don't know why I never thought to do it before!)

An antique bike keychain (made for my cousin who is crazy about biking. It's set in one of those make your own photo keychain keychains, which worked much better than I thought it would)

And the swan that I made for this months challenge (which has been worn around my neck since finishing)

I've made more, and I could kick myself for not getting pictures of them before sending them off. The first ones I did were Christmas gifts for a church younge adult party, and people have yet to take pictures of them for me haha but it's made me better about taking my own.

So if you've gotten this far, thanks for looking and maybe even reading my inane chatter. Any comments are welcome, as are suggestions!
3  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 72 ENTRIES / Swan Song(Updated Photos) on: March 05, 2012 08:50:57 AM
So this is my first challenge entry (yay!) and I'm as excited as I am nervouse about it. Smiley When I first read the opposites description for this challenge I thought of how often what we see in the mirror is the opposite of that others see (for better or worse) and with that in mind started to think things up. While my first idea didn't work out I'm so in love with this charm. The swan and her reflection are cross stitched on 30 count canvas and measure 27mm across by 38mm down. It took me about two hours to draw up a pattern I was happy with another two to stitch it than maybe two more putting it in the charm so a total of six hours at most.

These photos are a bit better, having been taken with my camera instead of my iPad. I did change it from a silver chain to a 18in ribbon. Again the color is truer in the one I'm wearing, which oddly enough came out better than any of the ones that came out on my camera. Thanks everyone for looking and the amazing comments!

C&C welcome!
4  Georgia / Georgia: Central / Brookhaven, Buckhead, Dectur, Tucker Craft Group on: November 01, 2011 05:33:33 PM
Hi. Grin I'm part of a craft group that only meets once a month if even at my church and was wondering if there was anyone in the area that would be interested in have one? Once a month is good. I sew, do cross stitch and work with clay. So any kind of crafter is welcome, this may be too short of notice but I was thinking Friday the 4th for the first one, maybe at a Starbucks or somewhere along those lines. Send me a note if your interested.
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Coffee Cup Cozies/Sleeves on: October 17, 2011 10:41:58 PM
Hi, I hope I'm posting these in the right spot, saw a few others on this board so why not Smiley

These were my first ones, and I love how they turned out. The coffee ones are for my mom and a friend while the Halloween one is for me. The coffee ones also have different colored buttons so they could be told apart

So "action" shots

Thanks for checking it out. C&C Welcome
6  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Skull and Crossbones Cameo on: October 11, 2011 11:42:41 PM
Hi, so I'm a part of one of the Halloween swaps and got my package today, in it was an awesome skull and crossbones cameo mold, which I was just too happy to get and didn't waste any time using.

I've made four, the pictures aren't great sorry only have my iPad at the moment. The first one is mine and the other three are just there haha. It was also my first time using a mold so I'm pretty happy with it Smiley

I used premo accent clays for this one, it is two different clays which wasn't as hard as I thought it would be

The black and white as well as the pink and white are bake shop and the red and black are premo and bake shop.

The pink and white one is also painted, the white part which I may do from now on with some.

C&C Welcome and thanks for looking.
7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Game of Thrones-Lannister sigil on: September 21, 2011 05:44:44 PM
So I made this for the game of thrones ott swap. It's a bookmark with magnets on the inside, this was my first time turning a cross stitch into something like, learned what I will do different next time. It was also my first time using satin floss, it's a pain but pretty when  it's done Smiley

Next time I think I'll cut the cross stitch canvas and incase it in a fabric that goes with whatever the cross stitch might be. It's cross stitch and back stitch, and I would say it took me about 5/6 hours. The pattern was one I made and have since have made ones for all the other houses haha it will be a big but fun project.

C&C Welcome and thanks for checking it out.
8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Team Eric needle case on: September 14, 2011 07:54:54 PM
Another little bit of True Blood goodness. My partner and I had a love for Eric in common so making stuff having to do with him was a lot of fun. I made this case as I went, did try it out on in another fabric which I ended up giving to a friend who knits.

The front, the letters are done in with iron on velvet, amazing stuff. I had never used it before but I fell in love with it.

The inside, there is clear vinyl in the top to hold the needles in, also there is a little zipper pocket for the notions, stitch counters and what not. There are 7 or 8 long needle slots than two (in the red) for round needles (is that what they are called? You can tell I don't knit haha)

A close up of the zipper pocket. It's meant to fold back into the case when it's closed.

9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Ereader case fang style on: September 13, 2011 10:59:11 PM
This was another bit from the true blood swap, my partner said she would like a case for her Sony reader. I had wanted to do one of the cases that are like books but no one I knew had one and was worried about getting the measurements right so I did a sleeve one and was pretty happy with how it turned out. She also said the red and black were her favorite color combo so I went with that.

The back, or front depending on how you look at it

And the snap with a bit of the lining fabric

10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Diaper bag set on: September 13, 2011 10:40:11 PM
Hi again, finally getting around to posting all my backed up stuff Smiley

So this is a set I made for a friend. Her pregnancy was a difficult one, she was on bed rest the last two months of at and we never got to do a baby shower, so this sat around till a month or so after the baby girl was born. Thankfully everything worked out fine and she is a strong little girl now!

On to the set, I don't have slot of pictures, just one main so I'll go left to right.
At the bottom right is a Wet sipe bag, behind it is a tummy pillow, the small bag onto of that is a toy bag, there is a changing pad, a burping cloth, the diaper bag and a bib. Oh and attached to the bag is a binky holder. Woooo

The whole set took me abbut three days, it's a light weight cotton on the outside and a heaver weight brown on the inside, the changing pad and burp cloth have a towell that I cut apart on the underside.

So here is the happy girl, this picture made everything that went wrong when sewing this set worth wild!!!!!!
