21  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: OWS 75 gallery on: October 22, 2011 07:03:59 AM
gamemom the ornaments all arrived in tact. The brutal mailmen were kind to us this time. You are a little spoiler by the way! I absolutely love everything. I have no idea what I am going to use that red fabric for though. Don't you worry a bit though. I am positive that I will find some project for it. Hopefully I will get some pics taken today or tomorrow.

I recived from gamemom yesterday!!! Her ornaments are gorgoeous I am so excited. I just came off two 16 hour days in a row so I am having trouble getting off the couch at the moment. Once my motivation returns I will take pics and let you all see the awesomeness! Thank you gamemom and I will also try to remember to get a pic of the ornaments on our tree once December rolls around!

So I received last week from the wonderful rlynn! She made me a trash bag for my dad's truck!

If you look at the inside you can see that she made it so that a grocery bag can fold over the lining to make it easy to take the trash out and to protect the fabulous fabric she used! It matches my Dad's truck to a tee!

Then she went and made me this fabulous cuff.

I haven't taken it off since I got it. Well maybe once or twice when I showered or did dishes. Pardon all the scratches and scars on my hand it was a really rough week at work  Angry

rlynn thank you so much! I love it all!

I'm mailing jamiek79's Christmas ornaments tomorrow and I need every one of you to send good glue vibes my way.  I am so nervous about some of the glues I used on several of the ornaments.  I've shook them, set them down good an hard, tried to make them fall apart and they're fine, but somehow I worry that during shipping things will just start popping off.  Yikes!

I'll also be mailing a personal swap package... finally... to Monica!  My husband asked me today if there was a reasono I had been riding that box around in my car for the past month Tongue

I am sure that the postal service will handle my package with care (wishful thinking). However if the glue gods are not on our side then I am absolutely positive that I have some form of glue or another that can fix the postal demons destructive ways!

Jo, I will try to make more hideous things just to curb your jealousy. Yeah I couldn't finish that thought without laughing oh loud.  You do remember how bare naked my walls as correct? Put the stuff on your list I can claim you for them.

I think I have to mention how wonderful this swap has been for my soul. It is fantastically fantabulous to know the things I create are enjoyed by others. You ladies are wonderful. It is so nice to know that there as other people out there like me who would rather make it than buy it!

26  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Back to Hogwarts ~* Sendout Date Extended to Oct. 11 *~ on: October 13, 2011 10:10:49 AM
I'm quite certain that Canada Post is run by Death Eaters. Bastards  Sad

I hope it's not really lost and merely taking a senic route.

You may be right. Sad Unfortunately I'm a good witch and I can't bring myself to use an unforgiveable curse on them to find out where my package has gone... perhaps if I could find some puking pastilles? Then, hold back on the antidote until they deliver the box to xxx_vampiress_xxx?

I might use "accio xxx_vampiress_xxx package" and then I would transfigure them into Owls so that you would definately get your package to her. From what I hear I think that muggle owls would me more reliable than the Canadian post!

Hi everybody!
I got my package from the_essence today!!!! So super excited she did such a fantastic job and this was her first swap!

There were 2 of these notes. One from Professor Flitwick and the other from Mr. & Mrs. Flood of Honeydukes. They are Awesome!

The note with the bracelet reads (in a nutshell):
Official Hogwarts House Merchandise
Official Ravenclaw Charm Bracelet with:
Star: to represent the stars found on the ceiling of the Ravenclaw common room. Wand: key to life at Hogwarts. Teapot: Because not only are Ravenclaws sophisticated, but at Hogwarts, you do not wake up in the morning with coffee, but with tea. Diadem: to represent the diadem of Rowena Ravenclaw. Destiny: it is an individual's destiny to be chosen by a certain house. Portrait: a portrait of Rowena Ravenlcaw. Butterfly: everyone knows that ravenclaws are smart, but many forget, until they meet Luna Lovegood, that Ravenclaws are also some of the most unique students at Hogwarts. Book: to represent the emphasis on school and how the password to the ravenclaw common room is a riddle. Silver Chalice: for use in potions, also mentioned in the tales of Beedle the Bard. O: for Outstanding, because Ravenclaw students can often be found at the top of their class!

These 2 paintings are really gorgeous! The pictures were "taken" by Collin Creevy for the Hogwarts Yearbook. The picture was taken at an evening practice session of charms. They both have a silver metallic sheen to them!

These are totally hysterical. Theses and the 2 paintings are going to find homes in my craft room where I can look at them tons and tons!

I forgot to put the earrings in the pic with the bracelet but I think you can see them better here. These candle holders are adorable LOVE them!

Last but certainly not least my Honeydukes coffee/tea cozie... it says Accio Brain. Funny this is just how I see coffee. It brings me back my brain in the morning! Did you see the adorable lollies and candies around the bottom and I think she made the button from clay to look like a huge lollie.

the_essence Thank you so much you are a wonderful crafter. I had a ball in this swap and I love my stuff so much. hopefully you will get yours soon. USPS says that you should have it!  Great job with your first swap!

Rlynn is going to be one spoiled girl because I am going to send her my package today! Just a few finishing touches left and I will drop it at the post office when I pick up midget #2 from school!

Ok so I finally finished my Back to Hogwarts swap  Grin  That took way longer than expected. I can now start working on the millions of other projects that are in the queue. That includes rlynn's fabric growth chart and plaidpineapple's hat from etsy. Yay for me. I hope to have at least one of them done tonight but I am not sure which one to start first. It is going to depend on if I feel like sewing or crocheting this evening. I'll let you all know later.

On a side note. I have decided that I am not at all fond of themed swaps. The Harry Potter was fun but I am not sure that I am creative enough for that stuff. It was just really stressful for me. I like the OWS's because I know what I am making is something that someone else wants!
