And in another first for me...  a polymer clay tentacle pendant!  I was up till 3am the other day rolling & slicing up all those tiny little suckers.  I think I destroyed & rebuilt this three times before I was happy with the shape.  The tentacle is more purple than it appears to be.

Yeah, I kinda have a thing for tentacles at the moment... first the cookies, then this, & Ive also done a bleached tentacle t-shirt.  Smiley

And WOW, you guys are pumping out the cool crafty things.......

Kwilty kate Your pink monster is adorable & so nicely made.

Noooitaremybirthday your robots in love are beautiful to look at & inspire a warm fuzziness.

Luckdragon - I love your punched pendants - the style especially suits Firefly!

Suereal - Cosmo is hilarious & watching that video just made me so ridiculously happy.

My first ATCs - sent to Imera (she has received).  The first is for her Jane Austen theme - it's a velvet silhouette of Jane Austen on the first page of Pride & Prejudice and the other is an extra for her Circus theme.

This is the first thing completed from my list & my first attempt at Game themed foods Gingerbread Tentacles for a session of the Cthulhu Role Playing game.

I baked the cookies earlier in the morning, then went out shopping, got distracted & ended up having only 5 minutes to ice these before our friends arrived.  Thats my excuse for the dribbles anyway.  I think they looked cute in the end my hubby pointed out when I first starting cutting that they looked like shark fins so a little reshaping was undertaken Smiley

So many amazing projects on here now....Lime Riot's humiliation headbands are just too funny Im showing everyone those photos!  Megan Crafts' Star Wars skirt is super cute & Im in total lust with SheepBlues Tim Burton inspired altered tin!

I received my first ever ATCs today!  Mountains and Clouds made this beautiful card titled "Blimp of My Dreams" for my Dirigibles theme.

She also sent a bonus card - the gorgeous "Little Drops of Water"

The colours are amazing in these ATCs.  Thanks Mountains and Clouds for making this an awesome first time experience.   Smiley

5  Steampunk Deco Lady card in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by Squiffington on: November 09, 2011 03:20:09 AM
My most recent card was made for a competition - first time I've ever tried that Shocked  I won't know the outcome for a couple of months.  I was attempting to demonstrate stamping technique but the part I'm happiest with is the frame covered in mica fragments.  They're mixed colours - silvers, coppers & bronzes and give a very cool aged metallic/steampunky effect to things.

shows the mottled metallic effect on the frame

front of card - with partially exposed cogs

inside - full cogs!

Comments welcome.  Thanks for looking  Smiley

6  Cute Lenore Halloween Coffin Card in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by Squiffington on: October 08, 2011 02:21:43 AM
I painted an image of Lenore from the comic of the same name by the awesome Roman Dirge & made a coffin shaped card.  I raided my hubby's Games Workshop model paints for this cause I don't actually have any paint of my own...  one of the purples came out a little motley but I'm really happy with how the design & colours work on the card.

In all her glory! Smiley

The tippy, tippy top

7  Huge Victorian Rose Garden Card in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by Squiffington on: October 06, 2011 07:50:25 AM
I recently had the challenge of making a farewell card for a popular colleague who was retiring - it had to be huge!  I was reluctant to send the card all over town to be signed so I came up with the idea of mailing out individual pages and inserting them in the card later.  The card itself was 12inches square & featured my first attempts at making paper roses and sewing pages together.

I made the roses, flourishes & lettering from Tim Holtz dies, & used papers mostly from Bo Bunny's Timeless collection.  I worked out the roses after watching several You Tube videos.  It doesn't show in the photo but I embossed the flowers behind the roses & highlighted the patterns with ink.  The timepiece in the centre of the winged flower is paper coated in a lot of gloss finish.

I wanted some interesting paper for people to write their messages on so I went with a pre-shaped paper from one of the Kaisercraft Christmas ranges (six sheets used for oodles of goodbye messages)

This shot of the centre shows the embroidery floss sewn through to hold the pages together.

and more messages on the last two pages

and one final shot which shows how big it is!

Thanks for looking Smiley

9  Retro Rocket Age Birthday Card in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by Squiffington on: September 30, 2011 03:40:45 AM
Another birthday card for a friend - a lovely little 39yr old boy!   For this one I experimented with shaker box technology  the larger star buttons get caught sometimes but overall its a cool play feature.  The papers were from October Afternoon's Rocket Age range.   Still plucking the cat hair out of this one after my beloved crafting companion Sheba nested in my project!   Smiley

Hello Everybody,
My first post....A birthday card made for a friend who shares my love of old movies, especially the silents.  Made with the awesome Graphic 45 Curtain Call papers, Tim Holtz Paper Rosettes die & other bits & bobs. The card was straight, my photo certainly isn't!  Smiley
