1  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Dog bed from hooded panda blanket! on: March 29, 2013 11:24:59 PM

My dog Murphy needed a bed, so I headed down to Goodwill to find supplies. I happened upon a hooded panda blanket!

I also bought a plain black piece of fleece for the belly of the panda bed. The only other supplies needed were a needle and thread and a piece of foam or filling.

Here is how I made it:
(I hope these directions make sense)

Basically you make a big pillowcase for the foam. So first I took the blanket and the plain piece of fleece and pinned them right sides in. I hand stitched around 3 of the sides and halfway up the last one. Then I turned the piece right side out. Then I folded the foam in half and wedged it into the blanket/case I just made. I chose not to seal up the hole just yet, I intend to add a zipper so it can be easily removed and washed. And guess what? That's right. It's reversible.

Hey all, I just finished another bizarre picture, this one I used magazines, cut square inch pieces and glued them onto foam board. Here are some pictures. I'm still working on the tutorial.

3  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Shell Bowls on: January 06, 2004 02:28:05 PM
When I visited my grandmother in california I absolutely loved how she used these huge conch shells as bowls for her salads. She lined a clean shell for each person with leaves of lettuce and then filled it with whatever salad she made (my favorite was the shrimp salad). It was such a creative and not to mention gorgeous way to use those big shells!
