101  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / "Internal" on: March 16, 2006 06:49:52 AM
I did this painting for an upcoming art show called "The Sprit Within"

Its acrylic, watercolour and crayon.  One picture is with the flash to show the sparkly silver paint!  (Its not that sparkly in "real" life)

comments/criticism welcome!
102  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / anyone use mal's e-commerce? I have a question :( on: February 15, 2006 09:53:42 PM
So, I have been working away at starting up my own webstore, and decided to go with Mal's E-commerce for my shopping cart.

But- for the life of me I cannot figure out how to change the quantity so that as soon as an item is sold, it becomes unavailable to anyone else.  This is important because most of my stuff is one of a kind.  Is it possible to limit quantities?
103  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Let's all kick back and relax AND DRINK SOME HARRY POTTER! ...... say what?! on: December 21, 2005 06:33:14 AM
Because my friend is not only a Harry Potter fan but also a beer drinker, I made her this for her birthday.

The face is acrylic paint, and the body and clothes and stuff are felt.
104  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Painting on Records... on: December 21, 2005 06:23:59 AM
I was looking for a cheap alternative to canvases, and realized that after making so many things with record covers, I had a lot of records left over.

So on to the records!

Here's the second one I did for a school project.

I made a cover for this one too.

The cover represents the fetishization of commodities, ie on the one side is a woman that is being fetishized, but I put an i-pod over her face to show that commodities too are fetishized.  The actual record itself is supposed to look like a box, that represents the commodification of all public space.  The face is Marx's alienated worker, and the hand represents the sort of giving of commodities by corporations, or at least an unknown source.  I also wrote an essay on it as well, if anyone wants it, I can e-mail it to you or something.

Thanks for looking!

Banana Boats!

Cut the top of the banana so that you have a little v shape.  Then put some marshmallows and chocolate chips in the v, put the top piece of the banana back over it.  Wrap and tinfoil and toss in the fire until melted and warm.  SO GOOD!

This one isn't done yet, I don't think.  I'm not sure what to do with it.  Its up against the wall its supposed to go on.  I'm just kind of stuck with it.

A table top.

Well, thanks for looking.  And I would really, really appreciate feedback, good or bad!
