1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: SEPTEMBER 2011 ONGOING ATC SWAP GALLERY on: October 20, 2011 08:11:34 PM
I received a gorgeous card for my 'Ancient Civilisations' theme from kwality570 today!

Presenting, in all his Egyptian glory, Monster Tut!

Isn't he divine? I actually giggled with glee when I opened the envelope and saw him.
The background is shiny and MT is stuck on top and looks all worn, just like a temple wall!

Thank you so much for him kwality Cheesy

I received three(!) ATC's from mintdawn, and they're beautiful!

First up is the start of my Dr Who ABCs:

K for K9! Isn't he awesome? K9 is actually a separate piece glued onto the card so he is slightly raised.

Secondly:

Isis, the ancient Egyptian goddess of fertility, motherhood, magic, death, healing and rebirth.

And a smirking Halloween pumpkin as a lovely extra.

Thank you so much Dawn, I love them all Grin

5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Ongoing ATC Swap for August 2011 on: September 01, 2011 08:05:53 AM
Woohoo! I received my first ever ATC's and they're beautiful!

Kitiza claimed my theme 'reading' and because it was coming from so far away she sent me an extra too!
Without further ado, may I present:

"Books Are My Life" and

"Reading the Story"

How did you do the first card? Was it watercolours or some sort of marker? I'm sorry that I can't get it to show up without it being so washed out because the detailing and the clean lines are so impressive!

Thank you sooo much Kitiza this really was the best way to start my swap experience Cheesy

Also Mrs.LindsayLoo's flying "personal massager" is fricking hilarious!
7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Enchanted Stained Glass Granny Square Umbrella on: August 11, 2011 02:21:26 AM
I LOVE this! It's sooo divine!
The colours with the stained glass effect is fabulous and the pointy bits really are awesome ;P
I am so definitely going to try to make one of these, though I think I'm going to have to check the $2 stores for kiddie umbrellas to practise on, before trying a full size one.

You really do make the most divine things and I covet them all XD

P.S. Your dress is awesome and is that a crochet trim I spy on your shoes as well?

I love the filigree bead you've used for the abdomen.

10  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Headphone Sleaves la engrafted on: July 19, 2011 11:36:21 AM
I think you'd just chain 3 and then slipstitch into the first stitch around the cord. Then just spiral away happily in sc around the cord all the way up to the 'v', then increase by one in each stitch so you have 6 stitches.
Then sc in every stitch for one round(6 sc), Sc twice and instead of continuing around, sc into the stitch across from the one you're in, so you're dividing the tube in half, and continue up one side of the cord.
I think if you finished off and pulled the tail tight through the top stitches around the earbuds it'd grip more?
After finishing off the first cord, join again at the 'v' and repeat what you just did.
Don't know if this is more clear but I hope it helps Wink
