1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Frankensteins Zombie Cheerleader on: September 29, 2011 08:29:42 AM
i really like the way youve sewn it, there are alot of people who dress as cheerleaders and stuff like that here for halloween and it tends to just look super trashy, but yours definitely doesnt. Sorry if i sound a little slow for this question, but i understand the zombie cheerleader concept, ive seen it before...im just wondering where Frankenstein comes in?

My wish was to sew a Zombie Cheerleader costume and I tried to apply a Zombie make up(with wounds) but I failed, so I apply the stiches on my face and the tights(without something it was to boring)
and when I showed it last year in my favorit german sewing community (www.natronundsoda.net) a girl reply that the Make up is more for a Frankensteins monster Cheerleader than a Zombie, so I called it Frankensteins Zombie Cheerleader  Grin

This is my Halloween Costume from the last year.
In germany cheerleading is not prevalent. There are not many of them.
Its difficult to find an cheerleader uniform in a shop in germany, so I have to sew my own uniform

(You can see a small WIP on my blog: http://mara-macabre.blogspot.com/search/label/Halloween%202010 )

The tricot is from an old, simple.black Shirt from my mother (I took it because the fabric was perfect for my costume)
I made it narrower, made a new cleavage and decorate it with white facing and selfmade flock print
The Skirt is complete selfmade from black cotton with white facing

with lenses

Happy Halloween  Grin

Love it!
You took the words right out of my fingertips, MissingWillow!

And Mara M, where does one find such a wondrous thing as "spiderweb mesh"?!?
I bought the mesh in shop in germany. It was in the division for carnival

Some time ago, I bought this lamp on the flea market. I liked the base of the lamp but not the lampshade

So I peeled sway the green fabric and covered it with a spiderweb mesh, bias tape and beaded lace

light on

Later (after I took the fotos) I made this Spider from beads. At this moment the Spider sits on a web in the middle of the lamp Smiley
