11  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / heart-felt birthday banner on: November 23, 2011 03:02:10 AM
My friend lives on another continent, this year for her birthday I wanted to send her something hand crafted but I had little time to make something. Luckily a while back I had seen these lovely felt hearts http://curlybirds.typepad.com/curly-birds/2011/08/first-day-of-school-hearts.html on the internet and I started making some that I put in a jar of my own. So for my friends birthday, I made her a banner of felt hearts, with her name written on it.

thanx 4 checkin!
12  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / earring frame holder on: November 23, 2011 02:49:26 AM
Got the idea from the interwebs, usually I saw them made with some type of mesh wire;
but I only had some fabric so I used that instead. Stitched some colorful thread on the sides, for fun.
Finally all the earrings where I can see 'em!

thnx 4 lookin!
13  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / pimped out back to school folders! on: November 22, 2011 10:18:09 PM
I realize it is November, and that school started months ago, but I have been sooo busy!
I had some old folders lying around, so I decided to pimp'em out with colored paper, paint, images of virgin marys and even bus tickets from the last time I was home (lima)!
So, folders successfully pimped out; going back to school like a boss Smiley

this is a late response, but I understand that popmontreal the music fest has a craft division: pucespop.
it is so successful that they hold it three times a year now, the next one which takes place at the same time as popmontreal is coming up sept 24-25

I have never been, but I am super excited to go this fall and check it out

Thanks! I think they are aloes but I'm not sure, I got them at Ikea last spring and the label only said "succulent plant" which is the name of the family that aloes belongs to according to wikipedia... Smiley

So now that I am a bit more confident stuffing and stitching I am creating my own characters and trying different stuff on them; here is a small giraffe that I free hand stitched and then I tried incorporating beading into my work for the first time. It was a bit meh with the beads, I think it looked better without them.

My second attempt was much better, I made a small felt cat for a friend overseas with a beaded curl of hair on her forehead. I will surprise her with this by mail as a late birthday gift, it's gonna be awesome!!

And when I was done with her I made my boyfriend a fat cat, and afterwards I decided the two cats could be related, so they will be, they are part of the Gato family, I'll have to think of who to make next Smiley

thanks for looking!

I love the idea of having my own little craft studio to organize all of my crafting stuff and crafting ideas...
alas I still live with my family and so my wish is put off for a couple years. In the meantime I have managed to turn a couple spots around the house into craft storage and workplaces Smiley thanks for looking!

potted flowers and small terrariums arranged on the windowsill will hopefully last through the winter and keep me happy until spring...
