Where in America do you live now?

I live in Vancouver, Washington.  It's like 10 minutes away from Portland, Oregon if that helps any.

I used to live in Angelsey.  I live in America now, though.

Those are really really cool. I think the discoloration makes it.  Normal silver just'd be boring.
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: New Zebra Messenger Bag big enough for ALL of my books on: September 10, 2005 10:59:46 AM
omgmarissa- The fabrics a faux fur.  Its great and soft and when we get to go sit in the halllway and read....I have a furry pillow!

pillagethatvillage- That is SOOO cool we have the same name.  I've never even heard of someone with a name anywhere near mine.

brookem- The strap was bought from Joanns.

twiggymissretro- The fabric was bought at Joanns as well.

Well here's my attempt at a tutorial.  I'm going to explain it because I didn't take any pictures while making it...and I'm not making another one.  So here goes:

I started out with the Simplicity Pattern 9000.
I made it way, way, way bigger than that though.  You'll just have to guess at what size you want.
Instead of cutting out the strap of fabric I made it out of webbing. And this bag pattern calls for flaps with the velcro...I didn't like that so I made the front piece come all the way down.
I also put the pockets in before I sewed the sides to the back.

(Sorry if I'm confusing)

Then it was really flimpsy and it needed some support so I stuck a piece of card with quilting batting on either side in the back piece.  I had to slide it down through the front flap.  (that probably made no sense so I apologize).

Hope that made sense.  Undecided

Here's my new messenger bag for school:

Pen holder:

ID card slot:

Ipod Pocket:

Calculator Pocket:

And my favorite part....

A HOOK FOR MY LINT ROLLER!!

It wasn't exactly the easiest thing to sew because I put card on the bottom and back to give it more support...but hey it worked in the end.
7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: my wonderful guitar (edited.. pictures work!) on: June 26, 2005 09:33:53 PM
I have that exact same guitar.  Although I must admit, mine doesn't have awesome stickers.
8  Oregon / Oregon: Northwest / Re: Relocating to Portland on: June 19, 2005 11:40:47 AM
I live in Vancouver Washington, which is just across the I5 bridge from Portland.  Portland's pretty cool.  They have a lot of "interesting" stuff.  It's a LOT of rain though.  And I mean a lot.  Other than that, it's just a pretty average city.

Oh, and I don't know if you're into soccer but if you are, make sure you go to a Portland Timber's game.  They have their own little British fan club called the Timber's Army.  They're the funniest bunch of people you'll ever see.  Might want to check that out...

10  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Re: MY NEW HO'S [shoes] !! on: June 08, 2005 09:01:44 PM
So cool.  I went to WalMart last weekend looking for those shoes so I could make my own.  They only had HUGE men sizes and I guess I have small feet. Anyway, those are very cool.
