11  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / TX Longhorns Tshirt to bag! on: March 19, 2008 10:37:31 AM
I dont usually make bags but I figured I should. Im kinda happy how this turned out for such an impromptu project.
My boyfriends sister always gives me her old shirts that are too small for her. She said she really liked this shirt but it was just too small. Since I could care less for a college spirit shirt I decided to turn it into a bag and give it back to her. She can use it to keep stuff off the floor in her new car or tote around her kids toys/clothes. Hope you guys like it...I can almost sew a straight line now!!!

Dont mind the crappy stitching...haha..its functional Cheesy

13  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Re: Valentine's Day gifts... HELP! on: January 21, 2008 08:49:26 PM
you could make them each a duct tape rose. perhaps with a little note attached that says why they are special friends or soemthing. or attach a little bag of candy.
if you can draw or even if you cant, draw caricatures of them. and write their most used quote on it or soemthing. i know its not very valentinesy but its something.
hmm....you could make them candy. theres some good totally sweet recipes out there. i did that one year for my friends.
make individualized photo frames and put a crazy pic of you inside each one maybe holding i sign that says i heart you. just something to make em laugh.

im outta ideas for right now. haha hope i helped. oh n heres the duct tape rose tutorial link http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=162792.0

15  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Re: All done.......maybe ;) My boi's gifts from me! (LOTS of pics) on: January 20, 2008 09:02:56 PM
aw i loves it! i love love love the 50 reasons book. i looked at all the pics in your other post. and ya know...i might have to steal that idea.  Grin  oh and also the half heart thing too....thats what ya get for sharing your ideas with me  Tongue dont fret tho....i'll give ya credit.

i love any excuse to make my boy stuff and he always appreciates it. its just sometimes i feel sad cuz he cant make me stuff cuz he doesnt think he's creative enuf or artistic enough. Sad i told him that even a sappy crappy poem or  collage would be awesome. perhaps i should reveal craftster to him.

17  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Vday "stocking" help on: January 20, 2008 08:45:42 PM
I came up with this fun idea for my boyfriend for Valentines. I wanna make him a Valentine 'stocking'. So sorta like for Xmas but Vday instead. Now my problem is the shape. It doesnt have to be stocking shaped but something valentinesy but more manly. I want it to be something that he'll like having around so a heart could be too mushy and girly. I was thinking a pair of lips or even the fishnetted leg n high heel look thats out there, ya know. I wanna fill it with candies and love notes n little things that I'll make. But whats a manly valentines shape!? And any ideas on how to make it versatile so it wont just be a bag after he's taken everything out. Hope this made sense. I was kinda rambling. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
18  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: "Magic Wallet"... with tutorial attempt on: January 17, 2008 07:57:47 PM
I looooove these things. Ive always wanted one but didnt want to pay the price for soemthing so *sorta* easy. I finally got one for xmas and its perfect...minus a place for change but thats what pockets and the bottom of your purse is for.

The only prob i have with mine is i have too many cards n it gets thick and tight. I might have to try my hand at your tute and modify it a bit to be able to carry more cards. and hey...maybe even a tiny pouch with like a velcro close to carry a bit of change!

20  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / sewing fishnet fabric on: January 12, 2008 07:40:27 PM
I bought a yard or so of hot pink fishnet fabric for $1 a yard! ow ow. but my question is how do you sew fishnet? i wanna make a shirt of maybe a dress that i'd wear to like fetish parties or the club *clothes underneath too of course haha*.

would i just fold it over a few times and then sew? ive tried looking for help on here but i havent found anywhere that really explains how the sewing was done and most of them that i found were fishnet on top of other fabric.

thanks in advance!
