I work at BouClair in Barrhaven, and you're right, a lot of the sewing stuff is overpriced. But apparently we're phasing out the fabric over the next year or so. We have already cut back on the patterns (but they didn't put them on sale, Sad ) and a lot of the notions.  My understanding is that we're eventually going to liquidate it all to get rid of it, so keep checking back.

I can't believe I forgot about that!!! My mother has a booth at Inspirations... I have worked there for her the past two years.  Come see me at the "Recollections" table.  Grin

I saw this a couple months ago and was so impressed! When I found out a co-worker was having a baby girl, I immediately thought of these... and realized that I was too poor to buy one. So, I had to make my own. Thank you so much for the inspiration.

Those are too cute. Your work is very clean and tight... it almost looks like it was done by machine. Did you buy them as kits?

I love the continuity of the black background pages... it keeps the whole thing simple and... together-y. (I'm great with words!)

I always tend to be all over the place and my pages don't look like they belong in the same album.

I have been looking too... there just seems to be a lack of craftastic events going on around here.  I was bummed when Crafter's Marketplace closed down... I was just working on getting a booth there.

I don't know if it's in the fall or winter, but I remember there being a craft show at the Nepean Sportsplex sometime in the last year. We'll have to keep our eyes open for that...

Amazing! This is the first time I've ever hit the "This Rocks" button.

Now I'm trying to figure out what else I can hide in chapstick....

My other BIG bargain find was a bag of the big clear marbles (used for magnets) for $1 at the dollar store! They have them at Joann's for almost $4! I had no idea they had craft supplies!! Now I have the dollar store on my "regular route" so to speak.

I get a lot of my scrapbooking stuff at the dollar store. They have stickers and embellishments for $1 that you would pay up to $10 for at Michael's.

Oh oh oh!!! And a comfortable strap that won't dig into your shoulder if you're carrying it around for 2 hours.  Smiley

Ahhh, the perfect diaper bag. Will we ever find it?

I have found that TOO many pockets just makes it more confusing. Simple is best for me. Two pockets on the outside and maybe 2 compartments on the inside works. Although the size of diapers get bigger, the bag doesn't necessarily need to be bigger. My son is 7 months old and I have found that I actually need to bring LESS stuff with me than when he was a newborn (he has fewer accidents, etc).

What I wish my diaper bag had is a space for me to put my personal stuff like change and my keys. It is too much of a hassle to carry the bag and my purse so I just throw my things in the diaper bag.

Another important thing is the material. Mine is a nice vinyl that is easy to clean. Fabric diaper bags often get dirty quickly and don't wash well. It's also great if you spill something inside - it's easy to just wipe up.

Hope that helped a bit.
