1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / Bad Idea??? on: February 09, 2012 12:56:46 PM
I am going to Barrister's Ball in April. It's basically prom for Law School students. Now seeing as I never went to prom and have the love of my life to go with me I am ecstatic. However, I have been investigating dresses and I don't like many that are out there to buy. I am full sized, between a 16-18. I am losing weight but I want to make something spectacular. This is where all of you come in!! Here are some of the patterns I like...

The last one is my favorite. My mother thinks that it is too old fashion. Basically I want a show stopper! Something beautiful and wonderful. I have just started sewing, but my brother is a pro. Any ideas that people think are gorgeous would be greatly appreciated!! I'm going for something elegant and red carpet-esque. Hence making it rather than buying one! Thanks!!
2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Duct Tape Dalek on: October 31, 2011 09:55:26 AM
This year for Halloween I wanted to make my own costume. I saw someone posted a Dalek costume on here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=363204.0 so I thought that is a wonderful idea. Unfortunately, I haven't really learned to sew yet. Except for by hand and I wasn't going to do a costume by hand (although I have done that once). Anyway, I made this completely out of duct tape. There is no material underneath it. the dots are Styrofoam covered in duct tape and the base is a hula hoop. Hope you enjoy!!

And here is one more of me and my boyfriend before heading out
