Project: rainbow socks
My first go writing a sock pattern for myself (batting together basic elements really, but still had to make sure it all added up!) And I learnt A LOT! That's defiantly things I'd do differently - but basically I'm happy
I planned on adding the afterthought heel and scallop edging (both new to me techniques!) in a different yarn side I thought I'd run out of my main one, but in the end had plenty so decided that (since the yarn knitted up pretty busy looking) i didn't need any more going on and stuck with the main yarn
Which brings me onto....

Subject: zauberball socks
I'm intrigued to try something like the noro socks I've made before, but using a 'zauberball' - a differrnt brands long stand dye sock yarn - just to see the differences. These will be men's socks, I'm thinking they'll take me a fortnight per sock, so 4 weeks the pair. If I can get them done on time for my cousin's husband's birthday, they'll serve the dual purpose of
a) birthday present!
b) apology for non-attendance of birthday party (can't get time off work)
Of course, all socks are dual purpose anyway, in that they are
a) toasty feet warmers
b) elf liberation devices
