Project; puppet legs
The scene: yesterday, in a corridor at work, I am walking past
Colleague; oh, Vikki, are you busy
Me (suspicious); why?
C; not this minute as such, but, you know, for crafting
Me (increasingly suspicious, yet intrigued): still, why?
C: I'm doing some filming on Friday and need some legs for a puppet...
Which is how I ended up making Henson style puppet legs, in felt that doesn't match the puppet body (I wonder if I people think I have a magical craft supply kept handy in my armpit at all times)
I followed the basic Henson leg design, which I last used at university - usually I don't bother with patterns, but I drafted one for this because if you don't pattern legs, you end up with mismatched limbs!!
Because the felt doesn't match the face fuzz colour, he'll be wearing socks with his pyjamas, but he's pretty darn cute I have to admit, so here's a gratuitous puppet shot, with the legs in action: his name's Arnold, he was made in the Henson workshops (obviously!)
Project; K is for Potassium
You might not expect 'K' and 'potassium' to go together, but I loved incorporating a bit of chemistry humour into my alphabet quilt...
