Welcome to Ravenclaw, Primrosepetunia! Diving straight into advanced studies too, a true Eagle if ever I saw one Cheesy
I like the subtlety of the diamond Patten, it gives it a tweed/plaid feel but in an modern colourway

Question for all you crochet experts here--

If I want to make a giant in the round blanket without a pattern do I just keep enlarging the same as the first few rounds? Like if I get to row 22 do I crochet two in the first crochet and then one crochet in the next 21?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don't crochet, but it can't be too dissimilar to knitting... And it's basically maths too (physics student ahoy!)
I think your method will work!

Your circumference (distance around the circle,) is proportional to pi and the radius (distance in to the middle): so every time the radius doubles, your circumference should double also.
In knitting, the easiest way to achieve this is to double the number of stitches every time your row count doubles. So, row 2 had double the number of stitches of row 1... Row 4 has double the number of stitches of row 2... Row 8 had double the number of stitches of row 4...
(( you don't need to actually do all the increases in the doubling row (row 2, 4, 8, 16, 32) - you just need to have increased that much between doubling rows))

So... Talking specifically about your question: your method has you doing 22 stitches on row 22, then increases one per row to 44 stitches on row 44 (44 being the double of 22) which means both your stitch count.and your row number have doubled Smiley

Hurrah!

If you want to double check, look up some free circular patterns on ravellery and see how they worked the increases

Fab pokecards! What do you use to carve stamps from? The stuff that came in the cheapo-kit I brought was great, but I can't find it anywhere now and the art stores only seem to have stuff for stamping with paint (not ink) Sad

Seeuudee - I didn't know you lead a Brownie troop! That's so awesome! I used to be a Brownie (sixer of the Imps too!) and I seriously hero-worshipped our Snowy Owl  Grin

Patty - what a cool party - I love the make-your-own bookmarks especially!

Jennie - thanks! There were 3 puzzles - a number code based on the digits of e (the same as the stripes on Tom's hat), a complete the quote rhyming couplet, and a Japanese style picross puzzle that revealed a heart when filled in - it was fun, Tom answered then over breakfast in bed Smiley

Eventually they'll be a blanket - all different stitch patterns in yarn left over from other projects... But it's a long way off - I need about 180 squares, I currently have air 35! They are the perfect project for at work as they are small and I don't need to look at the pattern after the first few rows, but I'm coming to the bottom of my stash of appropriate weight yarn ends !
