*these are the stem parts that go thru the hole in the record, you want the shortest one so that the hands are close to the surface.



*this is what the whole mechanism looks like, it usually takes one aa battery...

you can get them at a.c. moore, or pear arts, if you live near boston.  you could probably order them online as well.  i think they ran around $6.

we charged according to the record, if it was a 12" picture record, it could go between  $30 to $40, colored vinyl was around $15 to $20, and so on and so on... it was sort of hard to figure it out, it took us some time to figure out what people would pay and how we could cover the cost of the mechanism, the record, and how much time was involved.

we sold them at the punk rock craft fair that took place this past december at mass college of art here in boston.  we also sold bags and magnets, but the records were the most popular.  it was way fun... even though we had to get up at the butt-crack of dawn.
