1  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / Steve Madden boots....help. on: March 15, 2011 05:14:23 PM
I bought these boots off ebay but they are missing the top strap on one boot.  Any ideas on what I could do?  I have some but I'm curious to see what others will come up with.
2  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / White Dr. Martens Boots...what to do? on: November 29, 2007 12:19:12 PM
I bought these boots off ebay.....  with the intention of altering them in some way.  At first I thought maybe I would wear them as white boots but now that I have them I don't think I will.  Do any of you have any suggestions?  I mostly wear black boots...I'm not sure what I was thinking buying white ones...lol Grin
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Halloweentown bag! on: September 17, 2007 06:50:59 PM
I found a great book at the library..21 Sensational Patchwork Bags by Susan Briscoe..I followed the instructions for the Bollywood Bag.

I made this for a friend as a belated birthday gift.  We both love all things Halloween, and she loves Nightmare Before Christmas, so I added the Jack patch.  It's really small, would probably fit a wallet, keys and a cell phone.  It's the perfect size for my digital camera, so I will definately be making another one.

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / my take on the double knit star scarf on: January 14, 2007 10:02:35 PM
I alternated the direction of the stars because it would have drove me nuts if I hadn't. I used Caron Simply soft and had enough left over to make a matching hat.  I only did about 14 stars instead of 16.  It's not the best but I haven't been knitting long and it was my first time trying double knitting.
5  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / My Stenciled Car! (and my first actual post!) FIXED IMAGES on: November 14, 2005 11:59:34 PM
After totalling our nice blue 2001 Hynduai Accent my husband and I bought a 1984 Pontiac 6000..a station wagon to replace it.  It had a primer grey hood and being the crafty people we are we decided paint it.  Sorry I don't have a before picture...

It's nowhere close to finished...we plan to go crazy with it and paint the whole thing.  For the hood we basically just sanded it, spray painted primer grey back on it, after that was dry we sanded it again and then painted a section in the middle of the hood white.  After all of that was dry we cut a huge skull and crossbones out of contact paper and placed it on.  We masked off the rest of the area and painted the hood with black spray paint.  No special auto paint...just spray paint, well the hood was spray engine enamel.  But basically we used cheap spray paint.  Eventually the sides will have flames and all be trimmed in silver pinstriping.
