1  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / Steve Madden boots....help. on: March 15, 2011 05:14:23 PM
I bought these boots off ebay but they are missing the top strap on one boot.  Any ideas on what I could do?  I have some but I'm curious to see what others will come up with.

A friend, my husband and I did this costume for a Villain themed party in April.  I'm on the far right.

And here's one of me alone  ...I couldn't find bowler hats for a decent price but did find blue ones that had a fake flowers and a rainbow bands on them for much cheaper.  I removed the band and flower and painted the hats black with acrylic paint, took about 2 coats.  I used ribbon to replace the band around the hats.  I had an old Fredrick's of Hollywood corset that I removed the cups from and attached suspenders I won on ebay.  The button up I already had and I made the skirt from some material in my stash.  I used a croquet mallet as a weapon cause I already had one from my Alice in Murderland costume.

It's from House of a 1000 Corpses or The Devil's Reject..the latter I believe.

I'd be really tempted to collage them something like this:

I love this project, really want to have a go at them myself.

That's really cool but as much as I'm gonna wear them I don't think it would hold up.  I'm pretty hard on boots.

Paint 'em up!  I've seen some really nice boots turned zebra stripe, leopard print, or my favorite was a black and white pop art look.  Hopefully that helps!
I had thought about that too...I'm considering maybe dyeing them a gray color.  Do you know what paints would work?
