Thank you both!

Those are really pretty! You gave me a great idea for a background image for another ATC I want to make.

And don't feel bad, I can't draw either - and you color better than me lol.

I've become obsessed with inchies since I joined this site and there's a Beginner's Inch Swap that I will be able to join once my 1 month waiting period is over. But this swap also requires that you make ATCs and I've never made an ATC. I was a little worried about joining a swap that requires me to send an item that I've never made before (especially since I am not an artist!), so I decided to have a test-run today on making some. I have to say, it was pretty darn fun! This might be my next big obsession. Smiley

I do apologize for the blurriness of the photos. I took them with my phone because I couldn't find my camera. I'm pretty sure my husband lost it.  Angry

I decided I'd make a few cupcake ATCs. This pink one was the first. I hadn't added the words yet and it looked kind of plain to me so the idea to call it "Pretty in Pink" struck me. I'm not sure why the corners rolled up on this one, but I plain on sticking it underneath some heavy books to flatten it back out.

Well, after naming my first ATC "Pretty in Pink," I knew I'd have to go with a common theme for my next one (because I'm anal like that) so here is "Sixteen Candles."

Thanks!

Oh my gosh. I was always wondering what cricuts were and what they did, but IO never really took the time to stop and read their boxes because I glanced at the price and figured that it was another expensive item that I would only use once or twice. I am just amazed at what these kinds of machines are able to do. I want one SO badly now. Too bad my birthday was at the end of March. My anniversary is coming up though lol!

Are all of these machines capable of cutting through chipboard or only certain ones?
26  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Beginners inchie (and an ATC) swap round 2 - SU until 15th May. SO 6th June 2011 on: May 01, 2011 04:46:20 PM
For ATC's, you can use playing cards and cover them. Or use them to trace on cereal boxes or other thin card board. This swap is great because you really don't need to buy anything.

Thanks for the tip! I would never have thought of using playing cards. I probably wouldn't have even realized ATCs and the cards are the same size. It will make my life much easier.

Right after I joined this site, I discovered inchies and have become addicted to them. I can't say I've made many yet, less than 10 total, but I think I'm slowing getting better. I tried drawing on the first ones, hoping that maybe I'm not as horrible an artist as I remember myself being in high school...but I'm definitely as horrible as I remember lol. My art being on a 1 inch scale makes it seem more cute than ugly though. My 1 month will end on the 15th and I can't wait to sign up for this swap!

I was using a ruler and scissors to make my first inchies but I don't measure very straight...or maybe it's I don't cut very straight (not sure lol) and they came out looking lopsided. I did make a few using a paper trimmer and they look nice, but after purchasing a 1 square inch punch from the craft store, I don't think I'll ever go back to cutting them myself. It's so much easier to punch them out and definitely worth the money. The Michaels where I purchased mine had it for $11.

I love the idea of using paint samples for backgrounds. I might even have a few lying around. If not, the hardware store is only a few minutes down the road. I'll pick up a few and see what ideas I can come up with for them!

I adore this! (And I added it onto my favorites! Smiley)

I always have such a hard time picking out organizers of any kind because they either a) never suit my needs or b) never suit my tastes - but yours works for both!

I agree that there should be a place for a pen and I'd love to see pictures when you make your next one.

Beautiful collection! I'm envious, and not just because it's green. Haha, that was corny.

I have never heard of piecepacks before but I can't imagine any of the other games look as nice as yours. You did a really great job and I appreciate you sharing the sites where you purchased the wooden pieces and how you went about making the game. This looks like it would be fun to make, especially if I could make my own rules lol.
