I love fall and I love birds so I've combine them both Halloween inspired fascinator.  I had a lot of fun making this and am sharing my pattern.  Fascinators are fun to wear and fun to make.  There's a link for the video tutorial and pattern on my blog (and it's all free).  Enjoy!   https://www.professorpincushion.com/userblog/professorpincushion/raven-fascinator

My tomato has served me well, but now there's a new, retro, radical pincushion in my sewing room.  My Rubik's cube pincushion was fun to make and so much fun to use.  Its inspired me to make other types of pincushions.  I'm offering my video tutorial for free and you can find it here:  https://www.professorpincushion.com/userblog/professorpincushion/puzzle-cube-pincushion  along with some pictures of my box camera pincushion and vintage radio pincushion.  Cheesy

I'm trying to be more green and the first place I started was with my lunch since I fill it with tons of snacks to sustain me throughout the day.  I also found a new way to use my rubber stamps!  You can find the free tutorial here:

7  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Need advice on blog giveaways on: July 11, 2011 10:47:34 AM
Hi there!
I'm looking for advice on doing craft related blog giveaways.  My blog and site, Professor Pincushion, is still a baby and I thought doing giveaways would be a nice thing to do in order to get the word out about its existence.  Currently, I'm trying to give away this pillow I've made:

Unfortunately, this giveaway is going the same way as my last giveaway in that I can't seem to generate any interest or participation, other than that of my mother.  I've tried to make my giveaways as easy as possible, ("like" Professor Pincushion's page on fb, follow on twitter, or just leave a comment on my pillow blog entry).  And I've made a post about it on as many craft, sewing related forums as I can.  Other than that, I don't know what else I can do and, so far, the results are pretty discouraging.  (I've participated in other blogs' giveaways and see how popular they can be.)  But for me, I'm finding that it really is hard to give something away.  Does anyone have any tricks that I'm just missing out on?  Any help would be so much appreciated.  Thank you!!!

I just made this pillow sham and love how it looks in my apartment.  Pillows are probably my favorite accessory.  For the video tutorial and flower petal pattern you can go here:  https://www.professorpincushion.com/userblog/professorpincushion/pillow-sham
