2  angry birds pigs - with mini tutorial and lots of pics in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Miss Jols on: December 28, 2011 08:29:34 AM
My daughter bought me an angry bird for Christmas - do spend daft amounts of time playing it when I should be doing house work !!!!
Anyway I decided it needed someone to play with so decided to make a pig.

As with most of my crafting I just sort of made it up as I went along ! I took some photos to share how I did it.
first I made a template from newspaper to get the parts the write sort of sizes.

then cut the bits from a fleece blanket - which in the sales made it much cheaper than buying just fleece material by the metre.

I used felt for the eye balls and nostrils.I placed all the bits out so I knew where they were going to be then I sewed on the eyes first using my trusty sewing machine, then the nostrils on the snout then the mouth.

then I sewed the snout onto the face,

I sewed the ear inside on first then put faces together and sewed round then turned right side out again  .

I put the faces together with the ears inside and sewed all round except for a small gap for turuning,

and then stuffed him with toy stuffing and sewed up the hole.

I was so easy I had to make another one !!!

Hope someone else has a go as they were so easy and turned out so cute . . . now to start throwing things around . . .

I just love Spooky Pookys yetis so I decided to make my self one. I sort of made him up as I went along using the off cuts from my hat making (another 2012 Christmas prezzie make !!) and raided my felt bag for the other bits. I love how he turned out, hope you do to !

6  pillow case skirts . . . not with my bum !!! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Miss Jols on: April 20, 2011 08:24:45 AM
I just love the skirts everyones made from old pillow cases, but with my bigger behind that was never going to happen ! so I decided that I would need a single quilt cover at least ! I drew round my favourite skirt and made a pattern
. The only spare bedding I could find was an old Sponge Bob one of my daughters that she no longer wanted ( teenagers !!!) so I thought it would make the perfect first go ! And it actually fitted really well !
Here I am modelling it . . . well sort of !!

Then I found the fabric I really wanted to try . . . http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/1193112/Trail/searchtext%3EQUILT+COVERS.htm
and to my delight the print was on both sides so I was able to make 2 skirts and also have enough left over to make more !!!

and more modelling

I am really happy with my first attempts, but maybe I should spend more time cleaning and get all that wax off my mirror !!!
