1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Phrenology and Cigarettes (Two separate projects) on: May 02, 2011 01:19:00 PM
Here's two pillows I made recently.  The first is a design based off of phrenology diagrams.  I have done a few of them, and I think I may have posted one a while back, but it was under a different user name and each one I make is a little different, so I thought I might as well post the newest!  These are a lot of fun to do.

This next pillow is a geometric design based off of packaging for Marlboro reds.  I really liked the idea of taking a fairly recognizable logo/packaging, stripping it down to its essentials, and repeating it to make a pattern.  It didn't turn out exactly as I'd anticipated, but I'm still pretty happy with it.

Thank you so much for the kind words!  To answer your question, RetroGypsy, the two outer ones are 7" across, and the middle one is 8".
3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Pabst Blue Ribbon (6 pictures) on: April 17, 2011 12:08:20 PM
So these are some items that I made for a Pabst Blue Ribbon show/crafting challenge that I did a few months ago, where everything we were selling had to be PBR-themed.  The first is a pillow with the PBR logo embroidered onto a navy background.

And these are some felt coaster sets I did.  Each one has a can tab with the initials "PBR" in the middle.  For each coaster, I did the embroidery on the top layer, and then sandwiched a layer of interfacing between that and a contrasting color of felt and stitched it all together.

Thanks for looking!

6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Hello, My Name Is... on: April 14, 2011 05:44:58 PM
I have always had a strange affinity for those name-tags you get at conferences, so I decided to embroider one!  I did the embroidery on a piece of blue fabric that I then stitched onto the white background, leaving the edges raw, and then I framed it in a painted white hoop.
