Those labels look so pretty!  You did a great job!  Homemade vanilla, get out!  How cool!
2612  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Work Your Theme ATC Swap Round 1 (SIGNUPS CLOSED; MAIL BY 9/20/11) on: September 13, 2011 04:03:46 PM
I also apologize for my themes as they seem to have brought out "grrrrrr" moments in a few. I have decided to make one for my own theme that I have left and I have already scrapped an attempt.

Maybe in the future a requirement will be that you make one yourself so that you know how much anguish you are putting others through...

Lol, they were a rather difficult theme, and I kept thinking to myself how I was ever going to pull them off. but I did, and I think they turned out quite good with minimal difficulties.

I got gozer's leftover U and we found out why no one claimed it.  LOL.  I ended up using an obscure quote to fulfill it.  ^_^  I still had fun making it.  It was my fourth Lost letter for her.  ^_^

At first glance, I thought your werewolf was Chewbacca!  Smiley  Imagine it with a bandolier and you'll see what I mean.

Oh for sure!  A set of Star Wars gourds would be so cool, and my hubby would love it!  Great idea, dulcet!  I'm so doing it!  ^_^
2614  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: SEPTEMBER 2011 ONGOING ATC SWAP GALLERY on: September 13, 2011 09:19:32 AM
Ooo that's a lovely ATC that jmiller did!  I love the tears.

Also, thanks for the recommendation.  Hubby and I do like anime but have been struggling to find something good that we agree on. I think I'll give that one a try.

I haven't been in the Ongoing for a couple months now!  Sad!  Once all my ATCs are received from the Work Your Theme Swap, I think I will get back into the Ongoing.  ^_^

Thanks everyone!

Love them!  My favourite is the wolfman.

That was the one I was most hesitant about making.  I'm glad it came out right.  ^_^
2618  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Jackalope Stuffie!! on: September 13, 2011 09:07:29 AM
Thanks, everyone! ^_^  It was actually incredibly easy to do, especially since it was the first time I've ever used a pattern to make something.  I did his body on the sewing machine and did the rest by hand.

Your Jackalope came out great. You made him so perfect! (I am totally going to have to borrow your idea for some old World of Warcraft friends. Haha.) Smiley

Borrow away!  I'm also an old WoW girl.  ^_^
2619  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Jackalope Stuffie!! on: September 12, 2011 07:15:47 PM
I did a personal swap with Suereal, and she loves cryptozoology critters.  After much research, I decided to make her a jackalope.

I used kwoozy's rabbit pattern for the body.  It can be found here:

He is made of felt.  His antlers have pipe cleaners inside so they are pose-able and so they will stick up straight.  I stitched on his nose.  I also made a pom pom out of some yarn that I had for his tail.

About 5 years ago, I was up at Green Bluff here in Spokane, WA, USA at a farm called Knapps.  Its a place where you can U-Pick berries and pumpkins, and has a cool pumpkin cannon.  They also have a bunch of bins of different squashes and gourds, and some dried gourds of different sizes.  I bought a whole bunch of them, and painted up some for myself that sit on my bookshelf.  I had a whole bunch of extras that I've been hording all these years.

I've been dying to make more of these, I just never found the motivation to, until I angeled for the Monster Swap.  I made these for my partner:

Here is the whole bunch!  A vampire, mummy, zombie, and werewolf!  They are painted with regular acrylic paints.

YAY GOURDS!

Thanks for looking!
