Personally, I've never used acrylics with the textile medium. I've only used fabric paint and it seems to cover really well. Perhaps the blue you are using is too dark and so its not as distinguishable from the black. The blue that I used was pretty bright. I would say that you might be using too much textile medium, because generally acrylic paints do a good job covering dark colors pretty well, too. Or you could try lightening up the color that you are using.
Maybe you should try the fabric paint. I only have like 5 or 6 colors, and they aren't expensive. I just mix colors if I want something different.

Hiya everyone! I'm Jill, I'm 28 and I live in Washington State. I'm good with nudity and profanity, but please nothing political or religious. My favorite things to do are reading (mainly fantasy/sci-fi), cooking/baking, playing video games with my husband, and crafting (duh!).
MY THEMES: -Harry Potter ABC's (Available Letters: R, T) (I'd prefer the cards to all be vertical with the letter selected being rather larger on the card) -Trees -Wine -Mythical creatures -Vikings -Wings -Fireworks (my hubby is studying to get his pyrotechnics license) -Your Location -Mustaches/beards -Anything from my book list on pinterest: http://pinterest.com/jkingcompogno/2011-book-conquests/ -Artist's Choice
OMG! I also JUST finished an IT Crowd cross stitch and it was also my first big cross stitch project! It has the same words on it, but I used a pattern I found online. Yours turned out great! I like the green you used for the wording!
My husband and I were watching Bride's Maids (a newer movie) and at the end he was all like, you know you cross stitched him, right? Roy was in that movie! hehehe Sorry, I digress!
