I'm pretty sure I'm running January's Ongoing ATC Swap (speaking of which, I need to get sign-ups going!  ACK!), so I will be all full up on organizer duty.  I'm so sad!  I so wanted to help co-organize.  At least you have the super awesome suereal!  Suereal to the rescue!!!

Hiya everyone! I'm Jill, I'm 28 and I live in Washington State, USA. I'm good with nudity and profanity, but please nothing political or religious. My favorite things to do are reading (mainly fantasy/sci-fi), cooking/baking, playing video games with my husband, and crafting (duh!).

MY THEMES:
-the Letter J
-the Letter E (for my husband, Ethan) (I'm going to frame the Es and Js and put them on each side of our bed, so nothing bulky please!)
-Trees
-Wine
-Mythical creatures
-Vikings
-Wings
-Fireworks (my hubby is studying to get his pyrotechnics license)
-Your Location
-Mustaches/beards
-Anything from my book list on pinterest:    http://pinterest.com/jkingcompogno/2011-book-conquests/
-Guitars
-Curse words that aren't curse words, strange or silly exclamations (such as "shut the front door!", "poop on a stick!", or "great Odin's Raven!")

2225  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Have you tried turning it off and on again? on: December 28, 2011 03:10:44 PM
This summer I did my very first cross stitch project.  I started small and did a head shot of Moss from the IT Crowd that I did for the Ongoing ATC Swap.  My BIL saw it and loved it and told me to add it to my list of gift ideas that I keep on my phone.  Done and done!  After that, I knew I needed to make him the entire pattern for Christmas.  So, here is my first big cross stitching project!  YAY!

I used this pattern from Dork Stitch:  http://www.dorkstitch.com/roy-and-moss-from-the-it-crowd/

TADA!  All framed up and everything!  I'm super proud of it.  ^_^  And my BIL was so excited to get it.  He said he is gonna take it to work and hang it there.

Here are a couple unframed pictures:

Thanks for looking!

2227  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Wands! Expelliarmus! on: December 28, 2011 02:29:44 PM
Yes, you've seen these before from other craftsters, but I just had to share my Harry Potter wands.  I originally made some for my partner in the Mini 13 Days of Halloween swap.  I loved making them so much, that I decided I would make some as stocking stuffers for Christmas this year for my family.

I used this tutorial:   http://www.instructables.com/id/Make-an-awesome-Harry-Potter-wand-from-a-sheet-of-/

In it, you use hot glue, paper, and acrylic paint to make wands.  I sprayed them with a clear coat at the end, as well.  They turn out so incredibly cool!

Here's the whole group:

And because I love pictures so much, here is one of each:

Needless to say, I got expelliarmused quite a bit on Christmas morning.  ^_^  They were so much fun and so easy to make, that I'm finding that I really want to make a whole bunch more!  ^_^  I foresee a future full of wands!

Thanks for looking!
2228  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: Scrabble Pillow! on: December 28, 2011 02:13:25 PM
Thanks everyone!  ^_^

I wish you had a picture of her seeing it the first time, a reaction shot would have been fun!

I know, that would have been cool!  Its such a small house that a huge group is crammed into, so getting pictures is hard.  I got a few at that exchange, but not many.

I love this! Are the names of your siblings, cousins, her siblings, etc.?

Its my husband's Aunt, really.  The names are her husband, kids and significant others, and grand kids.  And then my husband's parents, siblings & significant others, and kids.  My husband's family is so big that I had to limit it to certain families.  ^_^
2229  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: Bacon and Steak Shirts! Mmmm! on: December 28, 2011 02:01:03 PM
You have to cut different stencils.  I generally cut a stencil for each color I want to do.  Once you iron on the freezer paper, it generally won't iron back on after you use it.  So, you have to cut a whole new stencil.

And thanks for compliment! ^_^
