So I've been making western shirts with the set in snaps rather than buttons. I'm currently using the Dritz snap setter, but I'm finding that really isnt cutting it for me so I was hoping you all could help me. Does anyone have recommendations for a heavy duty snap press, or setter? I need to be able to set size 16 pearl snaps, but other than that, nothing special. It's going through a couple layer of cotton fabric and interfacing, and has to stick though washings and heavy use of opening and closing.
I'm crating a line of bags, and these are part of it. I just took silly phrases that I say, or things I've heard, and painted them on some cotton canvas. They're lined with various cottons, and have cotton webbing straps. I'm also working on a line of Japanese insult bags, but they're not completely done, and then I have some appliqued ones. I'm only posting pictures of the front because the backs are boring and plain. Kudos to anyone who knows what the last two are about.
I'm from a beach town, so naturally, I had to come up with a beach bag pattern. It's absolutely huge! you could probably fit a small child in there. It would also be great for going to the market, or library, but this fabric just screams BEACH to me.
The front and back are identical, aside from the print.
Here, you can get an idea of how the handles work. It's basically the upholstery piping cord tightly wrapped with fabric threaded through a casing.
Brought it home and looked at it, and can't figure out how to attach the part that locks in! It only has a large hole in the middle. The back part attaches like a magnetic snap with some prongs and a metal back piece.
Does anyone know how to attach this?? I've googled like crazy and can't seem to find an answer!
I recently just started selling purses and am having a hard time getting people to notice. I would love to know what you successful business craftsters have done to get the people traffic going through your store.
a couple ideas I've come up with is -fliers around town -carrying a bag with my logo -I have given a couple bags to friends to try and get them to spread it by word of mouth
Any help would be great, and if this topic has been posted before, a link would be awesome.
