1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Snap setter recommendations? Help! on: March 25, 2012 11:21:06 AM
So I've been making western shirts with the set in snaps rather than buttons. I'm currently using the Dritz snap setter, but I'm finding that really isnt cutting it for me so I was hoping you all could help me. Does anyone have recommendations for a heavy duty snap press, or setter? I need to be able to set size 16 pearl snaps, but other than that, nothing special. It's going through a couple layer of cotton fabric and interfacing, and has to stick though washings and heavy use of opening and closing.

Thanks!

I received, sometime late last week. I couldn't find my camera, but when I do, I'll take better pictures, and Sillybowtie, if you have any, please please please post them, because these don't do it justice! Here are pictures from my phone.

Wow, I gotta go against the grain.  I prefer the taupe.

The colours are richer, the stones have more depth, and the focal beaded element glows.  I guess you have to decide which is better based on which one represents the true colours.

I totally agree with this. When I saw the white, I felt that it was too bright. I love the contrast with the taupe.

I think your apron is adorable! I love the trim, and the two layers on the bottom. I also love the two fabrics and the lace. It's absolutely cute.  Smiley

As to the raw edges on the wrong side, I would probably line the bib part. I think that taking the time to hide those raw edges gives it that extra push to be really special. It shows that you took time to make it look nice, and if you plan to sell them, people will see that, and see all the detail in it which may get them to buy it.
