I received, sometime late last week. I couldn't find my camera, but when I do, I'll take better pictures, and Sillybowtie, if you have any, please please please post them, because these don't do it justice! Here are pictures from my phone.
So I'm finally posting all the GREAT stuff I got from princessacademy. I can't wait to have time to start using everything! Excuse the phone pictures, cause that's all I have right now.
Buttons! They look pretty much all vintage. So cool. IMG_0265 by craftyorange, on Flickr
Trims galore! I already have plans for the lace. I'm super excited! IMG_0264 by craftyorange, on Flickr
I'm crating a line of bags, and these are part of it. I just took silly phrases that I say, or things I've heard, and painted them on some cotton canvas. They're lined with various cottons, and have cotton webbing straps. I'm also working on a line of Japanese insult bags, but they're not completely done, and then I have some appliqued ones. I'm only posting pictures of the front because the backs are boring and plain. Kudos to anyone who knows what the last two are about.
I'm from a beach town, so naturally, I had to come up with a beach bag pattern. It's absolutely huge! you could probably fit a small child in there. It would also be great for going to the market, or library, but this fabric just screams BEACH to me.
The front and back are identical, aside from the print.
Here, you can get an idea of how the handles work. It's basically the upholstery piping cord tightly wrapped with fabric threaded through a casing.
I bought this fabric a while back from a sweet little store. If anyone is in the San Francisco Area, Peapod Fabrics is a great place to get cute fabrics!
I knew what I wanted it to be as soon as I picked it up. Little did I know it would be the most annoying time consuming bag ever. I actually told my dad "I want to burn this! OR cry!"
But I continued, finished it, and am quite excited about how it turned out! It's lined in pink, and the handles are just piping cord wrapped in blue fabric.
So I bought this little guy a while ago: Brought it home and looked at it, and can't figure out how to attach the part that locks in! It only has a large hole in the middle. The back part attaches like a magnetic snap with some prongs and a metal back piece.
Does anyone know how to attach this?? I've googled like crazy and can't seem to find an answer!
ETA: I made the porcupine backpack and just couldn't contain myself, it is so cute. this is for a friend of mine. She chose the fabric, but I just love love love it.
======================
Hi, my name is craftyorange, and I'm a backpack making addict.
So I decided a weekend or two ago that I needed to make some backpacks and now I'm totally hooked! I think they came out awesome and super practical.
Yeah, I totally did all the patchwork by hand. Haha, just kidding! it was the premade stuff. This one is the first one I ever did. I think it came out pretty awesome. The pocket on the front. It's lined in a red and brown polka dot, which I think is super sweet. The flap also has this fabric. You can also see the magnetic snap that closes the flap. The lining. Just plain ol' red. And the straps n' stuff. You can kind of see my tag on it which I'm in love love love with. I might marry it.
This is backpack number 2, which I mad because the first one came out so well. Well, at least in my opinion. I love love love this fabric. So sweet. I ran out of zippers at 2am so I threw a yellow one on there. I love the contrast is gives. It's like a little hidden surprise. The lining is just plain lavendar/light purple cotton. The back with straps One more picture because I love the side view. So round!
