First of all, you're so pretty! Secondly, maybe if you started off by editing the picture just to make the light seem more even. You can tell the original photo was taken with some variety of a point and shoot (not trying to be mean!) and you can see the flash. So maybe if you just edited the picture so the lighting harmonized better.

It could also just be the background. Maybe if you cut and pasted yourself out onto a different background, it would stand out more. Try making a textured background with cool colors. Something to match your robot theme perhaps?
