Each year I (with my husband!) make the kids' costumes. I often wonder if they enjoy them half as much as I enjoy making them...

I was wondering if others have tried this or similar, and would like to learn from your experiences. Thanks!

I am about to make lace (Yes, and awesome design from Urban Threads!). This is my first time embarking on this type of project. I am pretty sure the type of stabilizer to get, but wanted to know if anyone had a favorite brand.

I have heard lace can be kinda finicky and want to ensure my initial success!   

Also, I have a Bernina, if that makes a difference or biases your opinion on brand.

Any advice on stabilizer, or other things I don't even know to ask about, is appreciated!

I know with sewing machines, everyone seems to have an opinion, but I still dare ask!

I have read previous threads, and learned a bunch, but here is my current situation...

I had a Bernina 640e and loved it. Long story short, the machine was damaged and now needs to be replaced. The Bernina 640 has been discontinued, so I thought that the obvious option was to get the 730. For not much more, I can go up to the 830 or 830le. 

I'm not too worried about the cost, but am more interested in learning if anyone out there has any experience with the machine or a comparable machine?
