1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Some Ruffly Goodness!! on: April 17, 2011 12:41:14 AM
This is gorgeous! I'm pretty sure I need one of these in black lol
I'd have to agree that the fabric is a little pricey though.

I'll have to check out the fabric stores around town. Smiley

I got the idea from another craft forum, but I tweaked it a little to make the ears 3D.
I will eventually make a tutorial, but for now I'm just going to post the results.

I think it turned out pretty well, although it was definitely a first try lol

I'm new and I can't post pics yet, so here is a link:

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / McCall's M5805 on: April 09, 2011 09:23:33 PM
I'm looking for advice on the sewing pattern McCall's M5805.

Here is a link to the pattern:

I plan on making this dress for my mom for mother's day. I'm not sure which view I want to make yet, but I bought enough fabric for the longest version of the dress.

I am a fairly inexperienced seamstress, but I can follow directions and I know how to run my sewing machine. I've been sewing for about 2 months. I've made a few blankets, a few purses and a dress for my 2 year old daughter.

There was no difficulty level written in the pattern catalog or on the pattern itself. I read the directions, and they don't seem to terribly complicated, but I'd still like some advice. Has anyone else made this dress? If so, how did it turn out?

Thanks in advance!
