2  ~*Le Purrs*~ Mini Tote in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by krafty-kritter on: July 17, 2005 08:16:55 PM
This is a mini tote I made for my friends birthday this week.  Her favorite color is purple, she has a funky/girly style mixed with a sprinkle of goth, her screen name is Le Purrs, and she adores cats.  I tried my best to incorporate all of these factors into a bag, and apparently did well because she wont stop telling me how well it fits her  Cheesy  I'm glad she likes it.

The outside: I added a removable bow and a little beaded collar to the kitty which is felt that I hand sewn onto the bag...

The inside...

I used heavy sew-in interfacing in the bag and handles, and placed a piece of 3/4 inch thick foam in the bottom to give it a nice tailored shape even when there's stuff inside the bag, and to give it squishy yet sturdy support.

7  Black bag w/ red beaded dragon & pockets gallore! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by krafty-kritter on: May 06, 2005 05:38:19 PM
This is a bag I made for Jas.ns in the Wish Swap.  She requested a black bag with a red dragon on it, so this is what I came up with..

I used quilt batting instead of interfacing so its nice and puffy.  If Jas.ns ever gets sleepy during her travels she can always take a little cat nap on her bag!!

Close up of the dragon that I handstitched in red, then gray, and sewed on little beads for scales...

Pockets, pockets! ...

Thanks for looking!  Grin

Since Jas.ns just got her things from me today, I guess I'll post the pictures of what I made her since I have her permission  Grin

The lovely Jas.ns wished for a black bag with a red dragon on the front and some earrings, so I turned her wishes into these:

A black bag with red felt dragon, made with quilt batting in the middle instead of interfacing to make it nice and puffy, and lots of pockets inside for a whole days loot...

Pockets, pockets! ...

And the earrings to match the bag...

I just want to thank Jasmine for creating a super fun swap!!  Her wish for this type of design let me create something fun and funky on a purse that I might not have normally done on my own.  Ill definitely be making myself a bag very similar to this one because it was so hard to give away.. Hehe

Thanks Jasmine!

I'm anxiously awaiting my package from Starlee!  Grin

9  Tote and Bags: "Starry Nights", Strawberry Shortcake, and "Strawberry Patch" in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by krafty-kritter on: April 12, 2005 01:52:22 PM
I've caught the bag making bug and cannot stop sewing!  Here are my latest creations...

This is an 8 x 8 inch mini messenger bag I made with one of my favorite fabrics and lined with a bright gold fabric.  It's reversible and will be finished when I add a button closure...

Here's a side view...

... and here's the removeable bow and fabric detail.

Here are two Strawberry Shortcake messenger bags I sold to a mother and daughter.  They both have a red interior, strawberry buttons, and are reversible...

Here is a tote bag I made using an old McCall's pattern my aunt had from the 60's.  I put demin on the inside and rickrack around the bottom to give it a little shot of color.  Each side has an outside pocket that is found between the straps but is really hard to see, and I sewed the little zipper pouch to match...

Side view...

Detail...

Zipper pouch with red interior and strawberry applique I created out of felt and handstiched on...

Thank you so much for looking!!  Your input is very welcome  Smiley

10  4 Jordy bags I've made in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by krafty-kritter on: April 03, 2005 08:13:25 PM
After seeing just how easy it was to follow the tutorial for Jordy bags, and how very easy and fun they are to make, I decided to get to work.  I carried the pink one to college two weeks ago, my handbag addicted friends fell in love, and I've been making and selling bags ever since!  I love this site  Cheesy

Here are just a few of the numerous ones I have made so far...

The pink messenger bag I made which reverses to a solid hot pink fabric:

The green messenger bag I made for a friend which reverses to a vibrant lime green fabric :
